First time visit to this hotel. It’s a big hotel in a good location. The service was fantastic and you never waited long to get your food and drinks. Loved the pool area with plenty of sun loungers. Some pools were heated but in my opinion still too cold for January weather. The room was spacious, we stayed on 3rd floor overlooking the pool and the view was nice. The balcony was spacious and the table and chairs comfortable. The bed was super comfy but there were no duvets on the bed just a couple of sheets which I found strange and it was too cold. Ended up asking for blankets to keep us warm. The bathroom is spacious but far too dated, that definitely needs to be upgraded. We were on an all inclusive basis and the main buffet restaurant served OK food, I think they could do with theme nights so you could have Spanish night, Italian, Mexican etc. just to add variety into it otherwise it can feel same over and over again. I think overall a pleasant stay and we would return at some point in the future.

We arrived just after 12 noon to a warm welcome from reception, our room wasn't ready but they took our luggage and gave us our wristbands for the All Inclusive and let us explore the hotel and would call us when our room was ready. By 130pm I received a call saying we could go and get our room key, we got put on the 4th floor with a room facing the mountains which was breath-taking, our luggage already in the room waiting for us. The rooms are huge and super clean & tidy, and the smell is unreal, whatever it is they spray in those rooms needs to be bottled and sold. Huge bathroom with his and hers sinks, shower over bath and toilet & bidet behind a sliding door. We had two twin beds pushed together but made up to be a double which we were more than happy with and was what we expected. The pool areas are next to none, absolutely beautiful & both pools are a great size, glass bottomed pool is cooler than the big pool but once the sun had been on it a while it was warm enough to enjoy a dip. Sunbeds are very comfy and have a type of mattress on them, you get given a card upon check-in to grab your free towel from the towel hut, which you can exchange for a fresh towel every day. Never had any issues getting a sunbed, no matter what time of day we went. We went to the beach one of the days, came back around 2pm and managed to get a sunbed in a really good position for optimal tanning. The food...I'm very picky and I always managed to find something to eat, breakfast for me was a bit of a miss and had beans on toast or fruit for breakfast, but lunch and dinner was exceptional, so many things to suit everybody's taste. Covid rules at the time of our visit means having a lunch and dinner slot but it wasn't a massive issue for us, 9 times out of 10 we ate at the pool bar for lunch, which do lovely food. No complaints for either of us. We didn't really stay in the hotel for the entertainment as we like to go out for walks on an evening, we caught it a couple nights and from what we saw, it seemed really good and something for everyone. The staff are just unbelievable and will go above and beyond for the guests, a few nights in to our stay, we was constantly getting woken up at 3/4am by a group of lads in the room next door, so we went down to reception and requested a different room, expecting to be moved floors to another standard room facing the mountains, the lady at reception ungraded us to a side sea view facing the Duke shops, exceptional view of the mountains to our left and the sea to the right, so very peaceful and will be requesting a similar room on our next visit. We have already booked two more stays at this hotel for May 2022 and September 2023 to celebrate our anniversary and I'm really looking forward to coming back. Our trip in September 2021 was a special one as my partner popped the question on the roof terrace so this hotel now holds a special place in my heart.

Myself, my wife and some friends returned to the Gran after a break of several years. The hotel had not changed, but was spotless and the staff were excellent. The food was also very good. Just a pity the rooms have not been updated, especially the bathrooms which are past their sell by date. The bathroom towels were of poor quality. I should also mention the pool towels which were of very poor quality. The entertainment was always excellent at the Gran, although it was good during our stay it was repetitive. We will consider returning if some updates are carried out, but overall we had a good holiday. Thank you.

This is a spacious hotel with attentive staff and with high cleanliness. We are a couple in our early 50s and stayed early Jan22 with the majority of other visitors in a similar age bracket or a bit older. The pools and pool area are superb. One of the two main ground floor pools is heated. The sun beds are padded and comfy. Plenty of beds available. We did not try the roof sun lounging area but it looked great. We had a standard room which was large and quiet with comfy beds. The only downside was that the room cleaning regime does not include replenished tea, coffee or water or even removing dirty cups. That all falls under room service (payment applies). Never been anywhere else that does this and it’s annoying to be hawking bottles of water (free if on All Inc) from bar areas. Overall the rooms are a bit dated with lots of pine, but just see past that and enjoy the comfort. Several English TV channels available also. The entertainment was generally good but some of the acts were very loud filling the enormous ground floor reception bar with sound. As other acts managed to entertain us without deafening us, this must be a choice and one that requires consideration. By the way there is quite a lot of outside seating where you can escape the noise while still being able to partly see the acts. Table service very good mostly. Food is good to very good. There were a few occasions were the hot plate chef undercooked meat or fish so I’d recommend a bit of patience and ask for more cooking time (some hotels use meat thermometers but not here). Big varied range of food. Note due to covid you have to book gym via smart phone app, but not overly busy. Booked again for next year!
