If you can swing it, I would recommend more than just a day trip. The high speed ferry gets you there in under and hour, the regular ferry ! think is closer to 90minutes. Naxos is the biggest island in the Cyclades and there is much to see and do from beaches, to Naxos town to smaller interior villages or Mount Zas/Zeus (which is the highest point in the island chain) We were there 3 days and would have stayed longer if we could have!

There is a limit you can draw from the cash machines per day but Sophia Village take debit cards as do the shops and restaurants. Some car hire or quad bike hire places prefer cash. If you bring Euros as a back up there is no real issue at all. You wouldn't be overly aware if you did not see TV. We have moved to other islands and the situation is the same. No big deal.
