Accommodation is in beautiful chalets facing into the rain forest alive with birds and monkeys. Surrounded by a large tea plantation. The main building of the hotel overlooks the beautifully green tea plantation. It is modern, clean and a warm ambiance. Each evening log fires...More

In the middle of a tea plantation lies this little oasis. Good starting point for chimp- and golden monkey trekking. The rooms were big and well equipped and the food was really great. We also tried massage at the SPA and it was exceeding expectations...More

Stayed there for 3 nights and among the 8 hotels or so that we stayed in Rwanda and Uganda (all top rated) this was by far the best. Food, tea and service were exceptional, the rooms are awesome. The tea ceremony is a must see!.

is this area suitable for younger children (5 and 7)? We are travelling as a family to Rwanda and wondering about coming and seeing the rainforest?

Yes! Do it with no reservations! They will be in heaven! But as a teacher, make them read a little together about the monkeys so that they will be even more excited to see them. Have fun!!

I got two very helpful answers to my question about whether the chimp trek in Nyungwe requires gaiters/pants/jackets, like the trek with the gorillas. BUT, they gave opposite advice! Are there different areas for the chimps, some difficult and some on paths? Does the time of year (we will be there Feb. 20) make the difference? One reply says the lodge sells jackets; does it also sell gaiters and pants, or are we better off bringing such with us? Thanks again.

We are staying with you for two nights in February and have arranged for chimpanzee treks. What do you recommend for clothing and gear? We will have been to see the gorillas, and the lodge there provides protective clothing, such as jackets and gaiters. Do we need those to go on Chimp treks, and if so, can we get them at your Lodge? Thank you very much.

Good day Thanks for getting in touch. Yes you will need to have gaiters, pants and jackets. We recommend bringing your own trekking gear as we do not sell them at our lodge. Hope this helps. Regards Neil
