Great stay, great host, and friendly staff. Stayed for one night and will be back without a doubt. Arrived mid afternoon the bar was busy with a birthday celebration as was the restaurant, we checked in at the bar and was taken to our room by the owner, our bags kindly carried up the stone stairs by a staff member.

The room (Victorian) was stunning, with a high large double bed, comfy sofa, TV and fridge, deep roll top bath and impressive period furniture.

Drinks in the bar were speedy with a great selection. Dinner was very tasty, smoked salmon and the mushrooms to start, followed by fillet steak and chips, cooked well. The night’s sleep was great the room very comfy.

Breakfast in the conservatory was well organised with orange juice on the table, tea and good coffee top ups, a selection of cereals and fresh fruit, the cooked breakfast was probably one of the best I have had in recent months.

Birthday Party at The Plas Hafod Hotel, Mold, North Wales

I would like to thank Simon and the team at the Plas Hafod Hotel for making our weekend special. We booked the Victorian and Edwardian room for our Daughter's Birthday, both rooms were stylish, clean, warm and confortable. The bar and restaurant area's are well decorated and welcoming, with a good and varied choice of food and drink at reasonable prices. I would particulally recommed the Sunday lunch. What makes the Plas Hafod Hotel stand out? The staff, who are the most welcoming, professional and pleasent people ever. I have to thank Peter especially for going the extra mile, by waiting for us after our late return from the Thatre on Friday night, and looking after us when we were late for breakfast on Sunday morning. We have stayed here in the past and will stay again when we are in North East Wales. I cannot recommend The Plas Hafod Hotel enough

… My Wife and I were recently married here at Plas Hafod. They say that getting married is up there with buying a house and having children in terms of stress and I can confirm this is pretty accurate however the stress is completely removed when you have such a wonderful team on hand to support you through the day and more. Peter and the whole team at Plas Hafod are exceptional at what they do. Walt Disney said “ Whatever you do, do it well. Do it so well that when people see you do it they will want to come back and see you do it again and they will want to bring others and show them how well you do what you do.” I can honestly say that if you want to understand what that looks like then you need to visit this venue. The property is an 18th century house and has the decor and character to match, each room is decorated to its own individual charm which helps to immerse you into the environment. The grounds are immaculate and transport you away from the hustle and bustle of life in a heartbeat, letting you breath and relax with ease. The hotel team compliment all of this by being attentive and never seeming to ever say no to any request, it’s almost like it’s not in their vocabulary. It’s very evident that Peter and the team really enjoy what they do and after speaking with quite a few of them it’s clear to see that they don’t see working here as a job and they enjoy helping people have an amazing experience. The evening prior to our wedding day we booked a table for 18 including 5 children the service and the food was fantastic and could not be faulted. Breakfast was equally amazing in the morning and every request was met without any issue. The housekeeping team were so accommodating and went above and beyond to help us have the most amazing experience especially considering our demands when swapping rooms for our departing and incoming guests (which even I was confused about). I cannot recommend this venue enough. When we first came to visit the venue, after being let down through the pandemic by a company who went bankrupt. We were amazed that Plas Hafod looked the way it did in the location that it is. As we got out of the car and we’re approaching the hotel a previous guest walked in our direction. We exchanged pleasantries and he asked if we were thinking of getting married here and we said yes. He replied “don’t think about it, just book it.” He went on to say that he had just been married the night prior and it was the best day of his life and the people working there were a huge part of the success. If you are expecting a modern hotel with modern decor then this is not the right place for you. If you are more of a romantic and want to be transported away to a magical place and feel like a prince and princess for your wedding then this is definitely the right place, Peter and the team won’t let you down. We will be back for our anniversary for years to come. All that remains is for me to pass on my thanks to the Peter and the team, Mr & Mrs Ryan 26th August 2022.

We had our wedding here yesterday. What can I say?! From start to finish, the team at the Plas Hafod were amazing!
Peter, the wedding organiser was so warm, friendly and professional. He was there to give advice and reassurance throughout the organisational stages but on the day he really raised the bar. He was fantastic.

The way the room was laid out was perfect, the food was served piping hot and was delicious and the selection provided at the evening buffet was also top quality.

I cannot thank the team enough for making our day so special. We wouldn’t have changed a thing.

So if you’re looking for the perfect wedding venue, give them a visit. You won’t be disappointed!

Booked this as a treat form my wife's birthday and wow what a find! Gorgeous surroundings and a lovely looking hotel. So peaceful too. We stayed in the Victorian room with its old world feel and stunning style. Looked out onto the gardens which are well maintained and beautiful. Gave a sense of the heritage of the place. Please ignore people saying it's dated, the whole point of the rooms is that they honour the past. Thats the point! If you want slate grey walls, bland flat-pack furniture, 90" flat screen TVs and a shower that takes your skin off then go ahead and book somewhere else. If you want style, elegance and beauty then book here. We also had our dinner here in The Greenhouse; lovely and spacious with great views of the garden. The food is really fresh and extremely tasty. We had the welsh breakfast in the morning and its so good! And lets not forget the staff; Peter and his team are excellent! Friendly and helpful and made our stay even better. Will be going back very soon to try a different room and more delights from the kitchen!

Went along with my family, and enjoyed an excellent Sunday afternoon meal. Staff were friendly and very attentive, and the food, all home cooked, was of a very high standard. The menu is quite conservative, but carry’s all the traditional favourites! We ate in the conservatory - a wonderful setting as it overlooks the gardens. The hotel were fastidious in their attention to hygiene, and also in the implementation of the Covid rule recommendations. We felt extremely safe and well looked after. I would highly recommend the Plas Hafod hotel. Great for a family gathering, or intimate meal.

We were in a double room but there was no sofa bed. Having said that there may be a bed in other rooms. I would suggest phoning the hotel and asking them.
