Our desserts will bring it out.
Lovely last minute one night stay after a day in north wales. Great facilities (almost) rooms where beautifully clean and spacious. Only issue was a cold shower in morning, although We didn’t complain as wasn’t a huge issue for one big her Decor of rooms and downstairs bar was immaculate. Whilst the bar and hotel reception where always busy, staff always coped well, where always friendly and very welcoming, would stay again!! Thanks

Came here last year, same month. Decided to do it again this year. Hotel was ok. It's just slightly below premier inn type of standard. We chose to stay due to it's location central for day trips. Ate in the inn on Saturday evening. Food was ok but not as nice as it was last year. No specials board, just average pub grub menu priced on the high side ,though the kids meals were good value. Our server appeared annoyed to be in work, lots of eye rolling and huffing. We didn't really appreciate this but we're a well mannered bunch so said nothing. Just didn't to leave a tip. We won't be back I'm afraid.

Lovely setting. Staff welcoming and friendly. Food served in a timely maner, served hot. We had the surf and turf, bacon cheese buger and a kids meal of chicken dippers chips and beans. Great selection of drinks, we had a mix of soft and alcoholic. Will definately be back!

I just needed a bed for the night as I was visiting an unwell family member in the area, and it was considerably cheaper than the (newish) Premier Inn up the road , which I have stayed in .Though I thought £60 a night without breakfast for a 'tired' hotel ,out off-season midweek was quite a lot I have fond memories of it -I was born locally and have been a bridesmaid at receptions there in my youth. The lady who checked me in was very pleasant .I didn't eat there so cannot comment The downstairs rooms look in reasonable condition. I believe they were refurbished following a flood a few years ago. The room was a decent size, clean and reasonably furnished .Though hanging space not a wardrobe .The bed was comfortable . And it was warm .Which I appreciated as it was a very cold night However there was no radiator in the bathroom, which made it a bit unwelcoming . Te and coffee supplies would have been a bit mean for a couple though I'm sure they would have given me more had I asked. What let it down were the windows ,which desperately need replacing. Rotten frames and condensation running down the inside. I wasa bit puzzled as to why they put me on the side nearest the nearby (busy) dual carriageway too. I doubt the hotel was full .Cetainly there were no guests visible in the public rooms when I went out 5.45and returned about 9.45 But hadn't the energy to complain The window cleaner appeared outside at 9am Which was a bit disconcerting as I'd opened the blinds and curtains. Fortunately I was dressed. A warning would have been good ....It was OK but I certainly wouldn't stay here fora holiday. There is a good- sized car park (It had electric charging points I think ) and I felt perfectly safe ( I was 'older' woman alone ).…

Thank you for your review and we are pleased that you found the rooms to be safe, spacious, clean, warm and with comfortable beds. As the main building at the Talardy is listed we have installed secondary double glazing are we cannot replace the listed windows with modern UPVC. The rooms in the recently built lodge are only 6 years old. Extra tea and coffee are indeed available on request but as you didn't request any more then I assume there were sufficient in your room. Thanks again for the in depth review

Three of us dined to celebrate my friends birthday. We chose the Talardy Hotel after reading a rave review for the mixed grill on The Daily Post's Facebook page. My friend had the Surf & Turf, my Father had the Mixed Grill and I had the Ribeye Steak. My steak was supposed to be medium but wasn't - it arrived a fraction over rare. Both my friends and my father's steaks were tough, as was the gammon in the mixed grill. Also, I ordered a side of onion rings which didn't arrive with the main food order and I had to ask the waitress where they were. They eventually arrived when my meal was ⅔ finished. On top of this the chips are made from frozen. I don't expect this when I'm paying £20 for my main meal, which by the way was on the small side - more a bar snack than a main meal. We were all very disappointed in the quality of the food and certainly won't be going back. With one drink each it came in at £76.45 so a long way from cheap.…

Room was very good , we had room 1 in the main hotel . It was large and comfortable. Unfortunately the food didn’t meet the room standard. We waited a long time to be served when my steak came it was incredibly tough fatty and not edible. I did complain to the waiter but with no joy

Decided to eat here as our last visit was really good food, we were quickly shown to our table, for mains my wife had ordered steak and chips and i had the cheese and bacon burger, when the food came to the table at first we thought they had given us the wrong order. The steak was requested medium to well and what we were given was cremated, it was inedible, the burger came with less than a handful of fries and the burgers were wafer thin and well over cooked and dry and by looks of it they must have stuck to the charcoal grill as they were smashed to bits and then pushed back together. I approached the bar and informed what appeared to be the manager about my dissatisfaction and was shocked and disgusted by his response and actions, he came over to our table picked all the plates up and said don't pay for it and actually don't pay for the drinks and walked off with the food. Everyone in the restaurant were looking at us, to be made to feel like that when your paying £13,50 for a burger and other food is a disgrace and he should be ashamed of his customer service, i then approached the guy at the bar again and told him how disgusted i was with his actions and that he should have just offered to replace the food, his remark was "oh i thought you were remarking on the quality of the food" at this point were were leaving and he then remarks would you like me to replace it. Too little too late, lets hope this chap doesn't remain in his job for much longer as Marston's will loose a lot of business there due to his attitude …

Thank you for your comments. In response to your inaccurate explanation of events I would like to point out the following: Your complaint was dealt with in the appropriate manner and your were apologised to and given a full refund, including your drinks, because you were unhappy with your meal. When you approached the gentleman that dealt with your complaint you were again apologised to and on departing the building you shook his hand. It is a shame that after being apologised to and shaking hands you then want that person to loose their job. No further comment required

Just spent 3 wonderful days at the Talardy Hotel. Our children treated us as a Christmas present and we were there with our daughter and her family. Our room was really nice, spacious and warm. A couple of small points regarding the room - no drawer space to put clothes away and the pillows, although very nice, were a bit too bulky for our liking. Could have done with 1 big one and 1 smaller one. We had breakfast each morning and dinner each evening. Great choice of food, morning and evening, service was 1st class. All the staff were very friendly and made us feel right at home. Would definitely recommend The Talardy and would stay there again if we are ever up that way.
