We visited Bahia during the dry season in September. The lush grounds were a beautiful change from the surrounding brown countryside. We had a lovely waterfront room with in a "teak" wood structure, literally ON the river (a plexiglass covered window in the floor allowed us to monitor the changes in the shore due to the tides). It was so...

I stayed on the cabins above the water and it was spectacular. I would return to Bahía only to be here! The shows were amazing and the food was so good I didn't remember meat! I love the views and the natural state, Don Perez the sloth, the birds and the flowers. It was very relaxing.

We went to the Saiananda Lodge for a friends birthday. This place was so beautiful and had an amazing assortment of beautiful plants. It had the most beautiful birds, peacocks, pigeon doves, macaws, and so many others I have never seen before. This place served the most delicious lunch. The owner was a very nice man who explained everything and...

Saiananda is a lovely hotel in a spiritual and quiet location at the border of the bay 1 km from the main bus station (or a couple of minutes by car) outside of Bahia de Caráquez. The hotel offers a very beautiful view over the bay which enables you to observe nature at close distance. The owner is very kind...

My stay here felt like I was staying with family. Very warm welcome, great views of the water and great food! We had a nice sweet during our stay as well. Also, there's lots of nice dogs and a sloth! Everything is beautiful, the ambiance is amazing. Definitely would recommend. Alfredo is a great host!

Saiananda is a unique place operated by a unique owner. We rented one of the suites overlooking the water. The suites are sitting on concrete piles and you are actually over the water. The glass panel in the floor with a view of the water is a nice touch. The food is wholly vegetarian. I'm not - or wasn't -...

Saiananda "the bliss of Mother Earth" and that's the essence of the environment created by biologist Alfredo over the past 30 years. Turtle pond, exotic birds, a pet sloth, meditation space and many varieties of plants and flowers are a part of what makes this place unique. I found it interesting to explore museum quality collectables often artfully arranged. The...

Nature & ecological retreat on the Chone River with a diversity of mature vegetation, lovely peaceful grounds filled with birds, peacocks, parrots, bunnies, turtles, fish ponds. . Don't miss the live sloth! The foyer and common areas are full of character, antiques, and eclectic decor. There is a variety of accommodation available, and while pricier the best are the new...

We live on the beach north of Bahia and wanted to spend a birthday weekend some place romantic and Saiananda was. Thanks Alfredo for creating a beautiful setting along the Chone River just south of the city of Bahia de Caraquez. Our suite over the river was so tranquil, private and it seemed that the whole river was ours... Our...

“Select the room that overlooks the water. When the tide comes in the water is all all around and beneath you. You can watch the tide come in from your balcony or within your room through the section of glass bottom floor. There are peacocks on the property and can be noisy but their sounds are truly part of the experience.”
