The pros: Very nice mansion with well maintained pool and beach areas. Ample free parking available. Luggage was brought to the room. Friendly staff. Our room had been renovated recently. Good airconditioning. There’s a nice looking outside lake view restaurant however we haven’t tried. The to be improved: Upon arrival the restaurant was closed for lunch (yet there were some small dishes available). In between the hotel and the lake/beach there is a busy road. There is no bar service on the beach and as far as I know also not at the pool area (and at the same time the hotel states you can’t consume self brought items…). All in all small things. Rooms with balconies would be great.

We really enjoyed this hotel. We had a large room with a balcony on the third floor with lake views. The room was clean and modern. Breakfasts were wonderful! Wait staff were polite and professional. We also enjoyed the restaurant (dinner); we found prices to be very reasonable and the food delicious. The little beach is only accessible by crossing the windy, somewhat treacherous street, but didn't have any problems getting to it safely. The lake was a lovely temperature (much warmer than the pool).

A place of true Agatha Christie charm. Just beside the lake, this hotel and its staff will give you the nicest of times. It’s a bit worn through the years but it has kept its charm and magic. The multilingual staff is as good as it gets and the restaurant gives you an Italian cousine with international touch. Absolutely in my taste. All the marble, the silver cutlery and the cheer size of the place make you think that Hercule Poirot would be as happy as ever here. And if it’s good enough for him - it’s good enough for me!

Definitely not a 4 star hotel, I have some perplexities in rating it even as a 3 star. And the snottiness of the lady owner & 2 helpless receptionists is appalling! Get your feathers down, ladies, as this is a true castle in ruins! The only great thing about this decadent (I mean, literally falling apart) hotel is the lake view, for which they get no credit, it’s nature at its best that helps you keep your business running. Crooked and dusty chandeliers in the hall, rooms overcrowded with outdated furniture, beds will kill you in case you have back issues, dirty & dusty carpet where it’s easy to trip and get hurt, tiny bathroom, again, watch you head & feet as there’re corners ready to hurt you as you turn around. I still got a bump on my head from the iron made towel tray, dangerously positioned at nose level. Can’t imagine elderly patrons having a safe stay here. Pool full of dead insects. Ok, we’re surrounded by trees and vegetation but how about getting it cleaned? How about putting some chloride to prevent infections? There were 4 inches of black dirt where the pool’s water reached its limit. BTW, the pool’s water must come from a polar iceberg, it’s freezing beyond imagination, not even people who’re used to Baltic sea water could take a dip. Sun beds looked like they had never been cleaned, by the look of them and the cushions were probably soaked in sweat by the million customers who preceded our stay. Beach is tiny, same filthy sunbeds and suicidal in terms of getting to it, as you must cross a high speed traffic road -behind a curve!-with no stop signs, so it’s all at your own discretion whether to live or die. Food: acceptable breakfast is the only decent meal of the day. We tried their dinner and lunch and it was a forgettable experience. Food was bland and made with low quality ingredients. Plus, it was quite expensive for ratio quality/quantity. Wild parking by German & French guests with no care for others further aggravated our feelings towards this establishment. The only positive thing about this place, as I said before, it’s the lake view and you want to move on towards other hotels with the same view and a professional attitude towards their guests. Avoid!

This is a nice enough hotel on the shore of Lake Maggiore, but with a busy road at the front and a railway line at the back. The breakfast selection is okish, and the dinners (booked on a tour) are mediocre. It is fairly remote with a limited choice of nearby restaurants.

Al i can say is the. Hotel is in a great location, the service is efficient and good, the view is perfect to the small boats across the street, the food was very very delicious and I have to congratulate the staff of the restaurant, but most to Roberto, he had this connection with the guests and was always fast, working and smiling! I had to tell my experience: I’m from America, And we use to eat EVERYTHING with Ketchup, when Roberto knew this from the very first day , the next days he left a small pot with ketchup on my table, for the morning and for dinner :) he made me feel special and in home.. those small things make a small connection with the guests and for sure great service!!! I would always come back.

a beautiful old lady, well maintained. Wonderful position, 50 metre from lakes edge, albeit across the road, and a lovely swimming pool behind. Rooms spacious and wonderful view over Lake Maggiore, even a great view from the bathroom. Shower and gaze at view! Extremely comfortable, just love the ambience

Very Quaint hotel overlooking lake Maggiore, beautiful location, spoilt a little by a very busy road that you have to cross to get to the lake, worth it to swim in the beautiful clear water. The hotel is family run they are kind and helpful, the hotel is furnished in a style to suit the period I loved it’s faded charm. We had a room at the back overlooking the pool and garden, unfortunately there is a train in every near quite busy,we did not find it stopped us sleeping. The was also a very annoying dog barking on the first day we arrived,to be fair we where out all day so it did not bother us or bark at night. I have celiacs disease, was well catered for and looked after very well by the waiters and chef, would recommend them if you have celiacs. Over all a very pleasant stay, take your travel kettle and brewing stuff. Perhaps get a room at the front if you would be bothered by the train. Definitely take your swimming things the lake is so nice to swim in.

Quaint hotel full of character with fantastic views over the lake though a fair walk to town and no shuttle bus. Rooms very comfortable although our bathroom was minute. Nice sitting areas. Breakfast was fine but evening meal a let down. Staff were friendly but night before departure they left an envelope on our table thanking us for tip! A bit presumptuous! Management should not allow this. Pool was filled on day we arrived but loungers were still dirty though as it was wet we couldn't use them anyway. Lovely gardens.

This is probably one of the best place to stay when you are visiting Lake Maggiore. Rooms are Elegant and Quite. Hotel Staff is nice and helpfull. The place has an astonishing view over the lake and it is easy to move around if you set up your base place in this hotel. And last thing, but not the least, it is NOT an expensive place
