Read many good reviews about Cafe Lava, but was disappointed by the greed of staff when there. I'd booked in advance an economy room for 175,000Rp - a high price for a very basic room. The staff would try to sell their higher priced rooms to walk-in customers and say that their lower priced ones were sold out to make...

Room is decent, clean and rate is affordable. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Hostel is just directly opposite lava resto that you can have your breakfast or meals over there. Accessible to nice view over Mount Bromo. Restaurant's view is awesome too if you sit at the balcony. No fan nor air-con in room cos the environment is cold enough...

We booked an economy room which was 175 a night...smallest room we have stayed in in Bali but for the price it's fine. Beds are high so you can put your bags underneath and it is an hours walk to the first viewpoint for sunrise which is presumably the reason we would come here!! We did sunrise twice as the...

Pros - Big room, clean Cons - Overpriced - They told us everything except the most expensive rooms was booked (we did not book in advance), which was clearly not the case Other If you go here, make a reservation in advance such that they cannot try to sell you the most expensive room.

Stayed in this hotel as part of a tour. The hotel itself is poor - bathroom dirty, linen with stains and generall dampness. My real concern is the manager that runs the place. He organized a jeep for us to go to Bromo the next day. Turned out that we were not allowed to go in the park due to...

The hotel is really basic. They offer 3 types of rooms -- economy with shared bathroom for 125k, economy with ensuite for 430k and superior room for 530k. Difference between superior and economy with ensuite seems to be a TV. However, we booked economy standard and got a TV anyway. All rates are clearly printed on a sheet of paper...

You think you have to see Bromo, but getting there will not please and general accommodation is dire. Cafe Lava has good rooms and food with a price hike of over 200% in last couple of years though. Think we should boycott the place till they provide services equal to say Cambodia or Sapa and at similar prices.

We stayed here 2 nights because of its strategic location, which is very close to the entrance of Mount Bromo. We got the advantage to walk down to the volcano early in the mornings and evenings. The rooms are basic, clean and has hot water... which is really needed here but the price is a bit on the higher side...

We found this hotel after spending a night in the dirty guesthouse suggested by a travel agency. The hotel reception area look was simple, but when we step inside the guest room areas, it was very nice, quite and clean. It has a great view of the unknown mountain. The hotel staff wasn't that friendly based on Indonesian standard, but...

Better than expected , clean room, toilet considered clean , at least hot shower is available. Complimentary buffet breakfast is good too ,consist of fried rice , mee , toast , egg/omelette made upon order, and fruits ! Is a basic breakfast , but is really really nice and relax to chill with beautiful scenery after sunrise tour!
