A beautiful location, friendly welcoming hosts and fantastic views from our room . A perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery. The breakfast and evening meal in the restaurant were absolutely faultless with fresh locally sourced ingredients. We will certainly be visiting again. It was the ideal surprise for my wifes 40th birthday

Thank you for your lovely review and for choosing our hotel for your wifes Birthday. It is a great time of year to visit Exmoor and even now the colours of Autumn have never been better. The log fire is now toating our guests before going through to the restaurant and our seasonal menu now features some of our favourite...

We first visited Dunkery Beacon a few years ago, staying on two nights when their restaurant was closed (they only serve dinners from Wednesday through to Saturday). We didn't make the same mistake this time, making a reservation for the first night of our two-night stay. I'd heard glowing reports of the food....and they were all spot on! The only...

It was great to see you both again and this time give you the opportunity to dine in our restaurant on your first night. I'm thrilled you enjoyed my cooking - I do try to source as locally as possible from reputable suppliers, as well as growing some of my own produce and it does make such a difference in...

A real gem, tucked up in a picturesque corner of West Somerset. Great hosts John and Jane have exactly the right balance of welcome friendliness and professionalism. Wonderful location, great for walkers and cyclists, a hotel with a history, very comfortable rooms (all beautifully appointed) and fabulous food and good wine list too. If there were 6 stars, they'd get...

Stayed here for three nights in a double room on the first floor looking out towards the moors. En- suite with a sunken bath, comfortable bed and modern furnishings and plenty of storage if needed. Warmly welcomed on arrival with tea/coffee and scones if we wanted them. Ate here on the two nights that we could and were delighted with...

My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful weekend break. Words can't describe how fantastic this hotel is. Hosts John and Jane made the stay extra special as we were celebrating my wife's 40th birthday. The food is out of this world. The beds are the most comfortable I have slept in . To say we were relaxed...

Stayed for 2 nights in a double room with shower on the top floor. Warmly greeted on arrival, hosts helpful throughout visit. The hotel is charming, and setting tranquil! Breakfast was excellent, wifi is poor (but to be expected), location is 4 miles from Minehead in Exmoor. Restaurants in the local area are not great, nothing fancy but quite pricey...more...

Thank you very much for posting your review - John and I are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay. You timed it well with the weather and glad you enjoyed your evening picnic on our lawn in the glorious sunshine with a beautiful view to look out on! Very nice location, room very quiet and with stunning view on Dunkery Beacon hill. John and Jane are very kind, warm welcome with the and scones. The John biscuit's are the best we've tried in England. If you are fond of astronomy or walking this is a very unique place: dark skies and plenty of paths.

We're very glad you enjoyed your stay here, particularly the peace and quiet together with the stunning views. A shame it wasn't clear enough at night to get the telescope out when you were staying, although we've had some clear nights since and saw some amazing shooting stars recently during the Perseid meteor shower.
