It was amazing privilege to stay on South Water Caye. The island is just beautiful - white sand beaches and the bluest sea you've ever seen, with hammocks strewn around in shady spots. OK, the accommodation is pretty tired and the whole place could do with a bit of a refurb, but that is really part of the charm -...

Thanks for taking the time for the review! It's been a bit busy and we've focused on the guests not the buildings. Sorry about that - we're doing lots of refinishing over the next few months!

And our 6th stay at Pelican Beach on South Water Caye proves it. My husband and I agree (after over 40 years together) that nothing puts us more in honeymoon mode than vacation time here. It's pure bliss to snorkel together, discovering nature's wonders together, hanging out in hammocks, watching birds or the sun rising or setting, strolling under the...

We have been to Belize before, and were specifically searching for some place that we could snorkel and swim right off the beach. I am SO glad that I happened upon Pelican Beach. We were staying during a marginal time, at the end of June, so the weather could have been dicey. We did have a bit of a storm...

We visited South Water Caye twice! During our snorkeling trip to Glover's Reef on a Monday and hung out on their small visitors Beach on Friday. My photos are beautiful! My videos look like a dream....only the sounds of the wind and the water. My boyfriend swam to Glover's Reef from the beach and snorkled. He didn't need a boat...

My wife, 17 year old son and I just returned from a four night stay at Pelican Beach Resort. Leonard, Theresita and their staff went out of their way to create a relaxing, enjoyable experience. We arrived after the one hour boat ride from the mainland somewhat tired after four busy days touring caves, ruins and other mainland Belize attractions....

The moment you step foot on the island Lenard tells you he wants you to feel like you are home and boy do you - by the first night everyone new our names, our food likes/dislikes, and the staff became family. The island is gorgeous!!! hammocks everywhere to catch a nap, lots of clear water and you are a few...

We stayed in one of the "Pelican Pouch" rooms, room#1. It was better than we thought it would be. It was a very comfortable dorm room with a flush toilet and shower, in-suite. We also had 24 hour wi-fi and it turns out this was the only room in the resort with this feature. This was a very relaxing vacation....

We spent 5 nights here and initially, thought it might be too long a time on a small island. Turns out it was too short. We were upgraded from the new Brown Booby rooms which are much smaller than the cottages; there are no hooks or shelves for clothes (yet) and the hot water heater was on the blink -...

The beach is idyllic and the reef is right there for snorkelling. The staff are infallibly friendly, and Alton, the maitre d', is a gift. He’s willing to make anything work any way you want it to. But the rooms are shoddy (no hangers, no clothes space, no chairs no screens on windows) and the food is okay, but not...

My wife Kathy and I spent five nights and four full days here. It was very laid back, lots of good kayaking, swimming, and snorkeling right off the beach. I got to try a paddle board for the first time, and did lots of kayaking around the island. Kathy got a private snorkel lesson from Alton, and we both went...
