The resort has spectacular sunset view with towering Bali’s Mount Agung, truly the best spot to watch. We booked this hotel for our stay at Tarawang, because it was on the quite side of the island. Traveling with two kids (13&10)
The amenities are excellent, the location by the sea, the pools and the rooms look nice.
But then you stay here and you get sad that al the small things bring down the overall experience.
For example, the faucets in both bath rooms were broken and sprayed water al over the bathrooms. When informing reception about this, we were told it would be fixed with in two hours. After three we went back to reception to get our room key. Asked if everything was fixed. Yes it’s fixed, it was not! When I pointed this out to them it just took one hour to fix it. Don’t know how Maintanace or the housekeeping didn’t notice the faulty faucets?
Were thinking of getting some laundry done, until I noticed the prices. Like ten times al other places we washed our cloth in Indonesia. Could this be because they don’t want to assist you with laundry? A thought that just came.
Then the pool bar that was supposed to be manned al day, when it was 12:15 we had to go up to reception and ask if main pool bar was closed. It was not just no staff there. After ten minutes it was open and everyone ( about 15 persons ) could order refreshments.
Tried to rent bike from hotel, it should have taken 10 minutes to get two bikes ready according to staff ( they had several bikes parked outside hotel) after 40 minutes they came with two bikes without rack on. We specifically asked for bikes with racks so we could have our kids riding on the back. We ended up walking instead 45 minutes late.
And the price for a small Bingtang 60 000 Idr. The most we payed before was 30 000. We ended walking 200 meters north of the resort they charged 55 000 for a big Bingtang.
It left a feeling almost like the laundry, they don’t want to serve you a beer so they charge you an insane amount for it so you look elsewhere.
The best thing was the Breakfast. Breakfast staff made sure that you had everything you wanted. And even made a pitcher of ice tea for our kids.

A short but unforgettable vacation, Meet the man who paging with warm welcome and always smile in the harbour. Upon arrival greeted very friendly and pleasant from Front Office /Management Mr.Adi and Mr.Yahya accompanied by a welcome drink of fresh coconut picked from the hotel garden. Comfortable rooms and with private bathrooms add to the aesthetic characteristics of staying at a hotel island (Gili Terawangan). The breakfast food also was nice and amazing service by the man who has standing hair. (So sorry i’m forget the name). Must try to stay at Frii Gili Terawangan Pandawa and enjoy the service during visit the beautiful island :).

Theres two sides of gilli t, the 'main town' and the sunset side. this is sunset, which is quieter and more peaceful, we loved the beach ( although swimming was a no-no due to coral) and the peaceful sleep you can get here.
The rooms are pretty dated if we are going to be honest and it seems there is some maintenance issues in most of the rooms when we chatted to other people over breakfast. Our AC leaked and the door jammed a bit, but its not the end of the world.
For the price i still think this was a very good stay, just small details could of made it excellent

The resort was beautiful with the best sea and sunset views. but the service when we checked in until check out was very disappointing. I also work in a hotel and know what is good service or not. There was only one gentleman who brought us a welcome drink who was very friendly until we checked out. I think the service style on Gilitrawangan Island is like this, so I didn't think much about checking in until I had lunch there. but when we tried to get a meal in the other property the service was great like pink coco and regina pizza. an example that really annoyed me, when we checked in im already mentioned, i reqly strictly like cleanliness and tidy in room. but on the second day I stayed there I was supposed to get a makeup room but I didn't get one until I got home from cycling. feeling tired and hot when I see the room is still messy makes me in a bad mood! Until after 5 o'clock there is a knock on the door from housekeeping, then my partner says "wait a minute, sir, I'll be out in 10 minutes" because I thought they would clean our room, but Instead, I was offered "if that's the case, let's just replace the towel with a water refill, sir, tomorrow we can still clean it." With annoyance, I said, "tomorrow, I'll have c/o, sir, just wait a moment, sir." When I'm finished I'm going to leave the room, bro," he said. "Oh, so it's cleaned??" While you're ready, bring a towel and water. Because I was very annoyed, I didn't reply while taking a towel and water in his hand. and they left saying "you can still clean it tomorrow sir, just tomorrow". did he understand about guest request??. I know I don't pay expensive for room but I also want to be treated like a guest. and also never say gretting, too indifferent when guests pass in front of or next to him. im writing this just want to an owner or manager improve the service. the food and resort are really beautifull.

It started out as a good stay but unfortunately, didn’t end that way.
I booked though booking.com and made a mistake only booking 3x nights not 4x. So as I was checking in, I booked my 4th night. The guy checking me in wouldn’t give me a cheap rate, booking.com was cheaper by $60 AUD so I used that again on a a book now, pay later rate. He knew I was going to have a back to back booking and said I could stay in the same room, no problems.
The staff were friendly but didn’t make the effort to remember me. Even the breakfast guy tried to check me in twice 🙄 and the breakfast was average.
They ran out of pool towels, so I had to use my room one.
After my 3rd night I received 6x phone calls around 12:30pm (I was in a massage so didn’t know till later) asking me to check out! I couldn’t call as I didn’t have strong enough reception but messaged them on WhatsApp and told them I had 1x more night. They then proceeded to ask me ‘Under what name?’ I still don’t understand why… I’m a solo traveler, there’s only one name I could use. Then he told me I had to pay immediately on check in due to company policy, but I’d checked in 3 days earlier and money was not asked of me. I was on the opposite side of the island with no intention of going back soon. He then threatened to withhold housekeeping till it was paid which made me more frustrated and angry as I wasn’t saying I couldn’t pay, only that I was no where near. At 4:30pm I found myself back at the resort to pay and they had no idea who I was. Which made me even more frustrated and angry, and I explained that the guy that checked me in should have settled this all 3 days ago. Then I asked for a discount seeing as they weren’t going to do room services, as it was only 1x more night, so I didn’t care, only to then find out it’d already been done.
There is a failure to communicate at this property and although the staff are friendly, they are just there to do a job. They don’t care! I wasn’t even offered for them to organize a transfer for me to the port.
Resort is to far away from the main attractions and snorkeling areas but it is clean and quiet.
Definitely will not be staying there again!

Very beautiful villa but in a context far from Indonesia. It is located between 2 bars with loud disco music starting from 2pm. In fact almost the whole island has this characteristic, so I think I chose badly. Those who were there years ago described a different place to me. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in one of the two bars next to the structure. Poor breakfast, low quality lunch and dinner at high prices. Drinking at the pool bar, if you don't drink alcohol, is poor. I asked for a mango smooty (classic drink in Indonesia) which was undrinkable but paid dearly. What can I say, they transformed the island into a youth center with music, alcohol and... perhaps they wanted to replicate Ibiza.

Our experience did not start well at all as we were given a room next to the extremely noisy dance club (open from 4pm to 10pm) and after closing the staff were cleaning up the bar and could not sleep until midnight! Following day we were moved to a far away room. Quiet and lovely. Staff were amazingly nice and friendly. The room spacious and clean. The open bathroom is lovely but mosquitoes were a real pain! Breakfast was ok, they prepare your eggs, the rest was average. The hotel pool is small but cute. The bigger pools belong to a private company and even hotel guests were asked a minimum spend in order to get any sitting arrangements. A special thanks to Ulfa and the front office team who did their best to help us and make us feel welcome. We do like this side of the island as it is more quiet and a bit more upscale than the sunrise side, but it’s very personal…

Feel cheated coming so far to be disappointed. Look at pool picture below taken yesterday. Mosquito infested pool just feet from my room is a total health hazard. Shared wall with neighbor doesn't really dampen their normal talking voices, NO TV as advertised. Extremely poor internet speeds and the restaurant is perhaps the worst on the island according to reviews. I only ordered an over-priced, warm, water-downed watermelon juice.

Overall, I have a pleasant stay, but the images in the ads are not recent. They closed the pool and moved the pool to the restaurant. They provide breakfast with good pastry, in the afternoon you can enjoy sunset. The hotel is located 20 mins biking from harbor, and not too noisy.

Both garden pool and pool at the beach club are now operational. This is not an issue anymore in our resort. Please book your holiday in September, we assure you that all work well.
There are more places to choose from in the Gili Trawangan area.
