Penang Island, Malaysia

The staff was friendly and our rooms were facing the sea. We like the friendly atmosphere and walking by the sea during sun set. We managed to witness the cultural event of "Mandi Sapar" while we were on the island.

The good points: nice area, quiet and pretty but easy walking distance to lots of restaurants. Lovely bale shelters at the back of the beach. Good breakfast, especially banana pancakes and juices. Staff tried hard, including towels made into animals etc on the beds. Nice view from room to pool and sea beyond. Bad points: mix up over rooms and...

Fine if you just need a room and not intend to spend much time there. Fridge had mold in it, bed linen was not clean and was not changed during our stay (3 nights) we were meant to stay four but managed to book into a cleaner place for our final night on the island. Shower and bathroom were nice,...

I stayed 4 nights in Satu Tiga cottages last week. First of all the location is absolutely amazing and unique : Satu Tiga is the only place on the west coast of Gili where there is no restaurant or bar on the beach, which means that when you are on your terrace, alongside the pool or having your breakfast you...

Stayed here for 6 nights. Nice room with good view of the sea. In general the facility feels a bit run down and the garden needs a bit of work. The some goes with the pool. We had to ask to get our room cleaned after 2 nights. The staff always met us with a smile though but if you...

My partner and I booked a snorkeling tour through Satu Tiga we were very disappointed! They insisted on its quality, but instead we encountered an overcrowded boat, where the boat staff were disrespectful towards the nature we went out to witness. They chose to anchor on the reef when bouys were available, encouraged the touching and chasing of turtles and...

We originally booked a really nice room somewhere else in the island, but we cancelled it because we wanted to be at a hotel on the beach with a pool and to have wifi. In hindsight we should have just stayed at the basic room. The pool was a green colour and actually turned my white bikini green! And the...

I didn't get the chance to stay here. My husband and i are planning to stay over here for three nights with our other 15 family members. First I texted them on WhatsApp trying to get confirmation of how many rooms they have available, and I also tried to call them for the whole morning (office and cell phone) no...

We booked this hotel through hotels.com. The room was dirty, cockroaches under the bed, it has no air con and had a bad smell to it. The swimming pool was horrible and we could not see the bottom, we dared put our faces in the water as we weren't sure it was even clean water. We also had no running...
