It was a few years ago when I stayed here with my family but judging by the reviews the standard of this place has not slipped.
Just remember that this is a B&B. Do not expect to be waited on hand and foot by the wonderful hosts Don and Daeng but they certainly do welcome you into their home and do whatever they can to make your stay an enjoyable one. We had a relaxing three days there just resting, reading, swimming and of course eating! The food was so good that whenever we drove into town and were getting hungry we would return to order food at Mukdahan Manor! Have a look at some of my pics of what we were eating.
The location is only a few kms from the city but I would suggest that having your own transport would come in handy. I highly recommend this place.

We are travelling for 14 years through Thailand - that was our best "hotel". Mukdahan Manor B&B is not a hotel - the owner Don and Dang built a big residental complex and they have 2 rooms for rent. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the view onto the Mekong and Laos is great. In the swimmingpool you can relax and also enjoy that view. Very good breakfast.

Furthermore Don and Dang are very, very helpful and they try to answer all your wishes. You have a question or need an advice: Ask Don and you will know the solution or the answer.

Magical Manor
Having read the positive and somewhat alarming reviews I decided to head to experience the Manor.
From the point of first contact with Don to the moment I left after a night’s stay I can truly put my hand on my heart and say the experience was wonderfully memorable.
The rooms are a delight and certainly put many places to shame for the amenities available satisfy every need.
As soon as I opened my bedroom door the ceiling fan was on and so was the air conditioner, after a refreshing shower it was time for a cool beer served by a well stocked bar.
The crockery, cutlery and glassware have all been carefully thought of and care has been taken to ensure they have been well cleaned.
Dinner was so delightful by the pool and under a lovely sky with a cool breeze from the Mekong River.
After a 4 hour sleep I went for a swim and with just the rising sun no barking dogs the Mekong and I I truly had found a place that dreams are made of.
That was only one night on my tod.
Look forward to returning to partake of the lamb shanks and a couple of glasses of their red wine.
Thanks to Don, Dang and Nit.
Always busy taking care of their guests.
Gerry

I booked my family to stay with Don and Dang to attend my wedding. I was hoping for a family style atmosphere, where I could feel relaxed and comfortable leaving my parents and sister alone while I saw to wedding stuff. Don and Dang exceeded every expectation I had. The house is beautiful. Both Don and Dang are interesting and colorful hosts that simultaneously allow their guests space to relax while attending to every need. Dangs catering and cooking skills are faultless.

We also had our reception at the Manor. The whole affair was seamlessly organized and orchestrated by the ever capable Dang. Both my wife and my families adored the setting, food and company.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Do yourself a favor and if you are searching for a place to stay in Mukdahan or even just a fantastic meal with a view, look no further!

Thank you Don, Dang and staff... chom and monsta will never forget everything you have done to make the start of our new life together so special and memorable.

We were greeted by our smiling charming hosts...Don & Deng who helped us carry our luggage up to the lobby & room. They allowed us to check out both rooms and pick whatever one we preferred. This place is absolutely amazing....the downstair room was complete with an excellent A/C unit as well as a ceiling fan, and of course a comfortable bed and comforter. The TV had all the latest American TV channels including American Idol! The full-on breakfast which we consumed daily poolside was incredible! The pool water was crystal clear and the view of the Mekong river was unbelievable. We arrived late on the 1st evening and we ordered up some cocktails....the Margarita was the real deal...not the water downed version provided at most bars! Not only is the best place to stay in Mukdahan....it's also one of the best in all of Thailand! I can't wait to come back and stay again!

First class bed and breakfast, the rooms part of the beautifully furnished private house were very comfortable and clean

We ate dinner there my wife had a salad that was excellent on an international level, my self I chose badly, my pork steak had been cut from frozen meat on a band saw, a shame since thailand has excellent pork
the breakfast was one of the best i have eaten in thailand two eggs excellent bacon that made up for the poor pork the previous night, sausages salad nice coffe and fresh orange juice
the service in the bar and resteraunt was not upto the standard of other things
generally the atmosphere was a little unfriendly
A bit more expensive than other hotels in the area, but probably worth it
In any case we very much enjoyed

I don't have a lot to add to other reviewers other than to confirm what's already been said. This B&B is like staying at a mini 5 star hotel. My family stayed here for a week on business and absolutely loved it. It is by far the best hotel in NE Thailand and is one of our favorite hotel stays ever. Not only is it a nice stay, but you also get a free breakfast and stay in the same building that houses the best restaurant in NE Thailand. If you're traveling through Mukdahan, take a couple days just to relax here.

Thank you very much for your help P'Dang & Don.

Without your kind help to prepare food for me in the early morning for monk offering,
I would not make it on the schedule that day. :-)

Food was brilliant.

The place was fantastic for you to chill out.

Will definitely go back there again.

For Laos trip.

Our stay at the Manor was excellent but wished we could stay longer but we will return for a longer stay. Very relaxing; and this was what we were looking for.

Don and Dang were excellent hosts and Dang is a Great Chef with flavourful meals and Excellent presentation. Thai & English menus were extensive with Seafood, Steaks and other meats with large portions.
The seafood Thai dish we had for lunch was excellent and the seafood was NOT over cooked like most Thai dishes can be so would lead to tough prawns and Squid; this melted in your mouth. "Can-dos" to u Dang...excellent Chef.

The room was large with an exceptional bathroom with a Great view of the river.

Don & Dang were great hosts and were very accomadating with our needs

The room & bathroom were Huge and very clean. The view was great of the River and the Bed was soft with nice linen.

We are not drinkers but they had a Full Bar(better than most Hotels) and Decor was very nice with a European kitchen and Dining area. Living room was tastefully decorated.
