I visited across Christmas 2022 with my little girl (7). It was a last minute booking but absolutely fantastic. The hotel was beautifully dressed for Christmas, the staff very welcoming and friendly, food great - especially deserts, and the heated pools and absolute must. We will definitely be visiting again.
My wife & I stayed here for 4 nights recently and regard this as a large, first-class hotel, but with one caveat - that you get a room in a good position. Our room facilities were faultless, but we were in a gloomy, shaded ground-level area, receiving little daylight and did not get use of our patio area. However, we loved everything else about this beautiful place, The staff could not be more helpful, breakfast in the blue room (junior suite exclusive) was superb, the lovely heated pool and surrounding area was delightful and the exotic gardens were exceptional - with a sub-tropical feel. I must add that the bar prices were surprisingly reasonable, with good service. I would love to return sometime and highly recommend this hotel in the lovely resort of Puerto de Mogan.
This was our second stay at the hotel. You know a hotel is special when so many people are returning guests and many reviewers here and people we met at the hotel had stayed here before. The hotel is a beautiful oasis and the external grounds and interiors are kept immaculately clean. We had a room on a high floor looking over the main pool area. This was a beautiful view to wake up to in the mornings and to enjoy from the balcony in the evenings. The room was again immaculately clean, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. It was our wedding anniversary and when we arrived the bed was decorated with rose petals and there was a complimentary bottle of wine and fruit, which was unexpected yet greatly appreciated. Our housekeepers name was Magaly and she was fantastic, super friendly and helpful, when we needed something, she took care of it and made it feel like no problem at all. What a gem! Thank you Magaly! Breakfast was our favourite meal at the hotel. Due to a chronic disease I have a very special diet, gluten free and dairy free, which can often be tricky to manage when I travel. However not at Cordial Mogan Playa! The managers were brilliant, there were two in particular that were super friendly and helpful, Eduardo and Marcos. After the first day they arranged to have soya yogurts for me each day and helped me to get familiar with the gluten free section at breakfast and how to use the designated toaster. The bread and pastries were amazing by the way! Thanks you Eduardo & Marcos! The servers / waiting staff were also very friendly and helpful, Sofia really looked after us, she has such a warm and pleasant personality. Thank you Sofia! Dinner Again the hotel were fantastic for gluten free (and good for dairy free) for dinner. The chefs would prepare a pasta dish or other dish which was always tasty. The only suggestion I would have is that there were no deserts for a gluten free dairy free diet - yet the pastries from breakfast were gluten and dairy free - so if these could be available again in the evening, they would be fine. In other hotels - meringue and fruit were offered (Eg strawberries with coconut cream) which is usually suitable for people with allergies (obviously not to eggs) so there is a tip for the kitchen ;-) Because of my tricky diet and condition, the hotel allowed me to swop dinner for lunch to eat earlier in the day - which my condition sometimes needs. It was a bit invincible to have to go to reception on the day to get a voucher for lunch (instead of dinner) but a first world problem lol. Lunch is served in the smaller restaurant near the kids/family pool area . Juan, the chef at lunch was absolutely amazing! He made me a number of delicious dishes that were gluten and dairy free and even a dessert! An alcohol free mojito! Wow! Juan is another example of an outstanding staff member. Thank you Juan! In our experience that’s what puts this hotel above so many other hotels in its class, the staff. They really make your holiday! They are so relaxed (yet very hard working), friendly, warm, helpful, I just love the staff at this hotel. We’ve stayed at many 4 & 5 star hotels but there is something about the staff and service in this hotel that makes it feel like homely. Perhaps this is one of the key reasons guests keep returning! ‘Home from home’. So overall of course I would highly recommend this hotel, it’s simply the best! We will definitely return! Thank you Cordial Mogan Playa.…
Just had to write a review when we saw what the lady from Oslo had written don't know what planet she is on the cleanliness at this hotel is excellent and as for her comment about no staff at breakfast time some times there were too many and we wished they would slow down there was always an abundance of coffee and the dinner manager Riccardo was a delight.Maybe our only complaint was the food on the evening could have been warmer. We celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary while we were there and we were surprised on the evening with balloons streamers and a large bottle of carva on our table and rose petals on our bed! Nothing is too much trouble we are about to rebook next January 2024 and hope to bring our son and daughter in law with us especially so they can taste the wonderful cocktails with us. We'll done cordial see you next year!…
This is a lovely hotel. We stayed in a Junior suite, which was bigger and more comfortable than we expected. The evening turn down is a really nice touch. We particularly loved our terrace which had a view of the gardens and the little chapel. The gardens are a delight. Walking through them to breakfast everyday was a wonderful start. My husband went on the tour of the gardens which was led by a very well informed horticulturist which he really enjoyed. The quiet pool is just as it said..... genuinely quiet, as well as warm and for the first time ever we really loved going for a swim and then just relaxing by the pool in the sunshine. The food in the pool bar at lunchtime was very good. The location is perfect for the town which is pretty ands not been spoilt with too much development. There are lots of nice restaurants, cafes and bars. The staff are unfailingly kind and helpful and assisted our taxi firm when my husband found at the airport that he had left his jacket, containing his car keys , in the hotel! We had a really lovely timeand wished we had gone for two weeks rather than ten days. I can't think of anywhere nicer to go in January!…
This is a good hotel for most groups of people. The hotel itself is top notch with lovely gardens, all the facilities you could wish for, good food, nice rooms. Although most of the staff are nice, they are understaffed. At breakfast it is random whether you are served tea/coffee, or have to get your own. I am a sometimes wheelchair user, and have been waiting for 15 minutes for coffee, and one day just didn't bother to wait. They also don't always have time to refill the buffets, and the last hour can be quite lacking of things. I have also repeatedly found tableware not completely clean in the stacks. The room cleaning is lacking. The sweep the floor, at least the middle of it (I have stepped in crumbs on the floor right after cleaning!) and they don't always change your cups and gasses and refill tea/coffee. Very hit and miss. They are also not good at information. There is supposed to be room service available, I haven't seen any information at all. Activity information is hidden in a stairwell for mobile people, and the reception staff don't know anything about the specifics (like, is the hotel and botanical tour accessible by wheelchar?). When trying to change my pool towel the third day I was also told that needed to happen between 10-12 by the pool. The pool guy told me to change in the reception, and they were quite grumpy about it. I had no information about this earlier. So in general: What I missed: Pool not-reservation rules are not upheld. Information. Better room cleaning. Better service at breakfast. Clean tableware. What I liked: The quiet pool is quiet. No music or activities. Enough sunbeds for everyone, even if you don't reserve. Breakfast buffet has everything. There is one buffet for fruit and juice, one for milk, yoghurt and cereal, one for bread, one for cooked food, one for cheese and meat. Gluten free options. Both pools are heated and very nice. Most of the staff are nice. Options to change towels and bedlinen when you want it, not every day. Nice room w fridge, kettle, tv, good bed. Nice common areas, beautiful grounds. Generally good accessibility (except from the main entrance!). …
Stayed here in January 2023 for a week. We loved it and wish it had been longer. We stayed in a junior suite and liked that it was in a quieter part of the hotel. Stayed B&B and went into Morgan for dinner. Breakfast in the blue building was excellent with great service. Loved the pools and that they are heated so ipeven in January they are great to swim in. Great reflexology treatment at the spa …..so relaxing. What makes this hotel are the staff who are lovely and the beautiful, beautiful gardens which are stunning. Great hotel don’t understand why it’s 4* should definitely be 5* but totally understand it’s Trip Advisor Traveller’s choice rated, totally deserved. Loved it and you will too.
A wonderful hotel - one of the best we’ve ever stayed in in the Canaries. It’s beautifully appointed with an impressive reception area decorated with cascading waterfalls and exotic vegetation. The grounds are equally beautiful and well kept. The staff are so helpful. The food is plentiful, varied and delicious for both breakfast and dinner. What we especially liked was that there are two dinner sittings and we chose the later one at 8.15. We’ve stayed in some hotels at this time of year where everyone seems to want to eat early and the staff are trying to close the restaurant at about 8.30. Another advantage is that they were happy for us to take an unfinished bottle of wine to our room, keep it in the fridge and bring it back to the restaurant the following day. (My husband doesn’t drink alcohol and I don’t want to drink a whole bottle!) Our room was lovely. We asked for the two beds to be made up as a double and this was done straight away. The location is excellent, close to amenities such as the centre, the harbour from which you can take a boat trip and the bus station, for those who don’t want to spend the day on a sunbed. The nearby local bus takes you to the town of Mogan where beautiful walking routes begin.…
Just got back from 10 days at the Cordial Mogán Playa, arranged through TUI. This was our fifth visit since 2014, which says it all really. It’s a terrifically well-run hotel and the staff are happy, well motivated and always friendly and happy to oblige. The hotel is kept spotless and the gardens are a delight. There is nightly cabaret-style entertainment, which is fun. Breakfast and dinner are presented buffet style, with plenty of choice. The hotel mainly seems to attract older couples and younger couples with pre-school children. It will definitely NOT appeal to younger singles/couples looking for action and nightlife, and the town itself is an early night place once the restaurants close. If you are looking for tranquility in a lovely setting you will not be disappointed and you will not find better value. The hotel is a short, level walk into the town and main beach/marina area where there are numerous restaurants and good shopping. …
Our second visit to this Hotel and I’m sure we will return. Booked with jet2 and would probably book independently. We stayed in the solaz apartments on a B&B , which were luxurious…own hut tub, private sun terrace and bubble pool plus a self catering apartment. Breakfast in hotel was great, fresh and plentiful buffet style. We
