Hou Kong Hotel is a heritage building with more than 80 years of history. Its Portuguese architecture clearly shows Chinese influence. Newly renovated rooms are clean and neat, while friendly staff throughout the hotel awaits to make your stay a pleasant experience. Location is the most attractive of them all as Hou Kong Hotel is located less than 5 minutes away from Senado Square by foot and located directly across the road from Yuet Tong Terminal. With such prime location, be assured that public transport is also easily available as bus stops are just below the hotel, for guests who wish to travel to Macau, Taipa and Coloanne. Last but not least, the hotel is surrounded with many souvenir stores and local bakeries that many tourists love!

This hotel is about two blocks from the Sofitel Ponte 16 and near several UNESCO world heritage sites. It is a budget hotel. The room was clean with air conditioning and a moderate size. It was also non-smoking. The TV had about 40 channels including CCTV 9 which is a Chinese documentary channel in English. The staff was friendly and allowed us to check in two hours early. The room lacked a safe and mini-refrigerator. The bed was EXTREMELY HARD. I put the extra blankets on top of the mattress and under the sheet to make the bed slightly softer. The room was too expensive by most standards, but Macao hotels are expensive and even more on weekends.

From Macao Outer Harbor Ferry Terminal to Hou Kong Hotel:

By taking bus 10 from the bus stop M239 TERMINAL MARITIMO, that is located just outside the ferry terminal, to station M136 PONTE CAIS N14 (the 9th stop), which cost 3.2 MOP per person. The hotel is within 5 minutes walking distance from the bus station.

Hotel:
The room we stayed seemed under poor maintenance as it was old and its bathroom was a bit dirty. The surrounding of the hotel is less crowded and quite quiet at night. The front desk staff was being very helpful, they helped us to arrange a 7-seater taxi for taking us to the airport in the next morning (around 230 MOP), showed us the way to go to the Cotai.
Most of the tourist spots like Ruins of St Paul, Senado Square are withing walking distance from Hou Kong hotel.

From Hou Kong hotel to The Venetian:
Take bus MT4 from the bus stop M136 PONTE CAIS N14 to station T394 AV. CIDADE NOVE/ VENETIAN (the 13th stop) and that cost 4.2 MOP per person.

Traveling back from Parisian Hotel to Hou Kong Hotel:
Take bus 26 from the bus stop T376 EST. DO ISTMO/ PARISIAN (located at the front of Parisian Hotel) to M134 ALMEIDA RIBEIRO/ WENG HANG (in front of the Senado Square), cost 4.2 MOP per person.

We had a three nights stay at this hotel during a holiday in Macau, end of May 2016.
Basically, neither anyone of us knew anything about this hotel.
So, assuming this is either a happy or disappointing getaway.
However, this is not so bad firstly because after we got off from the bus (we came down from airport by bus), the hotel is located just opposite of the bus stop. The name of the hotel is just visible so you just have open your eyes and it wasn't blocked by any building at all.
The entrance, yes is exactly like the picture.
We stayed at first floor and went up and down everyday using stairs because it's more faster than waiting for the elevator (though sometimes we did wait for the elevator).
We make it to the point that once we are out from the hotel, we'll stay outside till it's time for bed. So we don't know how the hotel feels like in the afternoon.
Next to the hotel is a restaurant. I think it's Thai cuisine. Never had it because we are too excited to walk around and farther using the back alley which seems to be a common road to around. Yes, we walked at the back alley and it does not seems like back alley. More to tourists alley.
The bathroom, just like those reviews you read, yes, its compact but I think its more 'fully utilize' space. I'm OK with it. Basic amenities are provided.
We didn't call for housekeeping because it really doesn't required and all the sheets are actually clean too.
The room are rather small too but we don't need a lot of space actually.
Staff are kind enough to change cents for us. Because we travelled quite a number of times by buses and they don't provide small changes if you happen to put in alittle extra. The extra will goes to them.
Overall, I'm happy the stay is good and safe. Actually we make sure we check all the windows and the door latch that it's really functioning.
We were tired and slept quite good actually that's why even hotel is located near the roadside but we had no problem with cars running till morning time. The walking distance to Ruin of St Paul or Senado Square is not far but more to entertaining because there will be a lot of people walking on the street with you.
Overall, the appearance looks a bit old but the running is still ok.
Oh yeah, wifi works real good. However, not much channel on the TV (that's not really anything not good).

I stayed at this hotel with a package from an Airline. The location is near to a big plaza of Macau, 5 minutes by walk. When we met the person at the front desk. They cannot speak English. The room that I got was very smelly. Smell of cigarette smoke and dirt. Bed is like a wood plank covered with bed sheet.

Stay here if you don't have anything to loose. Good luck!

The hotel is a an old building in Macau Peninsula of old city area. If you arrived at Macau International Airport, you can take the public bus No. MT4 to reach the hotel. From the hotel, you can take bus No. 26 to go Airport. The bus only cost MOP6. The bus stop is very near the hotel which is like 1-2 mins walk only.
The hotel also is in walking distance to Senado Square, Ruins of St Paul and free shuttle bus to City of Dream and other Casino Hotels in Cotai area.
There is a 24-hour supermarket which is around 3-5mins walk from the hotel. So, it is very convenience if you need to buy something.
This is a budget hotel, so don't expect too high. No mineral water and coffee/tea in the room. There is a kettle for you to boil hot water, but the one in my room look bit dirty. However, the floor, bathroom and room condition in my room is look very new and I believe they just did some renovation.
Air-con and water heater are working well. But the wifi is very weak in my room. Only able to get wifi signal when I am near the room door area only.
You will be required to pay MOP200 during check-in. You can pay with HKD too. When you check out, the reception will refund to you immediately.
However, for this price in Macau, it is consider a reasonable stay.

It was one of the cheaper hotels I could find in Macao, so I didn’t harbor high hopes for it, though the overall experience was less than satisfactory.

The hotel is located in the older part of the city, and it is situated in a side lane. But then again, most streets at this part of the town seem like a small lane/alley. We booked a Deluxe Family Room, but in actual fact they could pretty much omit the word Deluxe. The room was small, though functional, just enough to fit a queen size bed and single bed. They managed to still cram in a small wardrobe and side table. There were no complimentary water/coffee/tea provided, not even a teaspoon. The single bed’s mattress was hard as wood. The bathroom wasn’t too small, but the shower tub (if you can call it that) is so small that you could barely stand inside it, let alone trying to turn your body. So the only way to take a shower is by standing outside the shower tub. Sleep quality wasn’t too good either as the walls are thin, so you could hear other hotel guests talking and walking in the corridor.

The one good thing about the hotel is its location. There are quite a few restaurants around the vicinity of the hotel, you just have to be adventurous and courageous a bit to venture into one of them. Convenience stores are also available within a short walk. It is also easy to hail a cab from around the corner. St. Paul’s Ruins is about 15min walk from the hotel, where you would pass through a shopping district with many shops and throngs of tourists.

Space being a premium, I’m not sure if you are able to find other better valued hotels than this, but I would suggest to look elsewhere.

Stayed for a night and staff were very accomodating. They upgraded our room to a bigger one. There are a lot of restaurants within the area and a convenient store walking distance.

Staff are very frienly (talked to about 3 of them) and they can clearly understand and speak english. They are also very kind.

Hotel is close to senado square and the ruins and bus stops as well. Will definitely stay here again.

As written, it's the cheapest hotel which I can find during my visit in Macau. The room is big and clean too. Toiletries are provided. Wifi is strong, hot shower & air conditioning are well function.

It's opposite Sofitel, 3 mnt walking distance. 15 mnt walking distance to Senado Square & Ruins of St Paul. Eatery, bakery & restaurants are around the corner.

Tip: to get to the hotel, take Sofitel free shuttle bus.

Public transport is just across the road opposite the hotel. There are a few small restaurants within walking distance. The area is very safe even at late night or early in the morning. We did not have any issues walking back to the hotel at 3-4 in the morning after a night out at the casino.

Hi Winnie, I'm not entirely sure, although I believe most horels should have a 24-hour check-in service. And you can always email them via their email or whatever platform you booked them from. They usually answer (I recall asking for direcrions on how to get to the location and they replied promptly). Plus, some booking websites have an option of asking the customer their estimated time of arrival, so you can always indicate it there. Hope this helps!
