A comfortable hotel on the road travelling into Bad Ischl by bus. We were in easy walking distance of the town. Clean comfortable rooms with very helpful staff and a substantial breakfast to keep us walking on our trail to the next stopover. We discovered the Juene's coffee shop in the town, made famous by Sissi and Franz Joseph who... More

The hotel is located near the downtown area for easy access to the restaurants & bars. The hotel room was a nice size as was the bathroom but the shower head was located in the middle of the tub rather than at the end & taking a shower was difficult. The hotel is very clean & the staff were very... More

Introduction; a slightly older couple walking in Austria for a week, second stop. Arrival; we arrived by bus from the end of our walk, the hotel was very easy to find even in a very cold day when it was pouring with rain. We were soaking wet and freezing the lady on reception could not have been kinder telling us... More

We stayed here twice in a week. The second visit, room 123, was better. The rooms are small and rather plain but clean. The staff however are wonderful and very accommodating. A good base for seeing the city as it is an easy walk to everything. I would recommend a nice walk along river and into woods on Soleweg to... More

There is a sign by the handsome ceramic stove that says that in 1935 the Prince of Wales took tea in that room. Obviously, this place used to be a nice place that has now fallen way down in quality. First of all, the cigarette smell is awful. It wafted all the way to the second floor lobby where our... More

Our stay at the Hotel Stadt Salzburg was fine; it is inexpensive, and only a couple of minutes walk away from the town centre. Our room was quite large, but was old-fashioned and clearly hadn't been renovated for some time. (We peeked around the door of another room one morning, which had been left open, and that was much more... More

This hotel has recently changed hands after being in the same family for decades. Consequently it needs a lot of renovation and modernisation and the new team is working hard at that. They have created a welcoming bar which would be lovely. Bad ischl isn't really a place which sets out to welcome tourists and even during the festival we... More

Stayed here twice in one week in road-facing rooms 214 and 107. Both far too noisy to get much sleep as traffic passes on two sides . The pillows were like nylon spheres and it was sweltering, impossible to sleep, the tiny air con made no impression. Dogs in the breakfast room and a cat in the bar! A very... More

Positive - Although on the main road, the location is rather good. Traffic is little during the night so that noise is not an issue. At the same time the main attractions and shopping are within 10 minutes walking distance. - All staff were very friendly. Negative - One of our beds was making noise with every move and the... The hotel was nice and clean. Rooms were not very big but not to small. Toilet was a bit out of date. Not flat screen tv. The location in the town was good, but this town is mainly a skiing resort during winter so the town was a bit empty. Good value for money and the staff was very nice.... More
