This is a home away from home. The beauty of the establishment was overwhelming with Christmas decorations. The fireplace was a warm welcoming place to sit and talk to other guests. The owners were friendly warm and kind to the guests. They went out of their way to accommodate our needs and answer our questions. The room was clean and extra blankets were given even though the room heated up quickly.

I will be sure the stay at this place again when I visit my home community.

Love staying here - peace and quiet and serenity. Great view, quiet, clean, friendly staff, comfortable bed, all very charming with excellent restaurant up the street "Chez Robichaud". It books up quickly so call ahead - ask for Louise.

Just wanted to write a note about the hotel I stayed at on my trip to Nova Scotia.
The hotel was the Au Havre du Capitaine located in Meteghan, which is not far from Yarmouth.
I came up to Nova Scotia on business from San Antonio,Texas and this hotel had Texas Hospitality written all over it.
This is a wonderful place to stay with a great location. Everyone at the hotel - Louise the owner, Monette, Kelsy and Joan really make you feel like you’re part of their family. I recommend that if your coming in from Yarmouth drive the few miles along the coast and make this your first stop and stay in Meteghan at the Au Havre du Capitaine. I know you won't be disappointed.

The temperature in our room was above 30C in October and it didn't cool off much even with the windows and door open. I like to support local businesses but this place really needs some heat pumps or AC for guests to feel comfortable. A good night sleep would be worth the extra drive to Yarmouth.

I only had the opportunity to stay at Au Havre du Capitaine for one night, but I wish I could have stayed longer. My stay at Au Havre du Capitaine was one of the highlights of my weeklong trip to Nova Scotia and I cannot wait to return. My stay at this hotel is a big reason why I want to return to the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

The Owner:
Louise Comeau is a wonderful woman! Extremely friendly and hospitable. At the end of my one day stay at her hotel, she gave me a big warm hug as I was departing. As if we had known one another for years as opposed to one day. Louise gave me tips on where to run in the area (I'm a runner) and just helpful information in general.

The room:
I had a room on the second floor with a view of the Bay of Fundy. The setting was gorgeous, especially at sunset. The room itself was very clean, spacious, but had a cozy feel to it. It felt more as if I was staying in a room at someone's home as opposed to a hotel. The bed, big and comfortable. The bathroom: very clean with a great shower. The shower had great water pressure.

I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive about the room not having air conditioning and I was staying in the middle of July. But, like someone else previously wrote, if you open the windows there is a breeze that comes off the Bay of Fundy that cools the room. I slept comfortable with the windows open and in the morning I was even a little cold.

Price: For the room and I had and the hospitality that I received, the price was a bargain.

I look forward to the next time I can stay at the Au Havre du Capitaine and I hope that many people will pay a visit to Louise Comeau's wonderful property.

We booked a room a few nights ahead, coming from Digby. We were exploring the Yarmouth Coast and Acadian Shores on our way to Peggy's Cove and Halifax for our flight home to the States. There are a few other places to stay in the area, but we lucked out. The Inn was built as a hotel, then housed some priests for a period of time. Louise and her family have restored it to it's original purpose, and what a pleasure! Our room was beautiful with a view of the ocean across the street, antique furnishings, and a comfy bed. Beautiful quilts are everywhere. The room was quiet at night, no road noise. We walked through Meteghan, which is quite small, in the heart of Acadian country. Louise made us feel very welcome, as honored guests. The prices for breakfast are the same as 10 years ago, very reasonable dinner. But the food was magnifique!

This place is unique and the staff go over and above to make you feel welcome. A young woman named Kelsey ( I hope I got her name right), was kind enough the first time we stayed, to make sure my tea cup was brimming with hot tea, and on later stays I became familiar with the tea/coffee station and so could help myself whenever I wanted. That is very important to me. Breakfast was complimentary amd there were lots of good choices. Our room was #18 and it overlooked the ocean, as so many do in this lovely hotel. Our room was clean and tastefully decorated and had a rocking chair and comfortable beds. We love this place!

Just spent 6 nights at this wonderful B&B. My sister lives 20 minutes from here but my husband and I decided to try our first ever B&B experience. The home is immaculate and each room feels personal with quilts made by Momma Louise on the bed and wood floors so clean you could eat off of them. Each morning we were greeted for breakfast with a smile and genuine conversation. At night when we would arrive back sometimes late Momma Louise was sitting on the couch to greet us and ask how our day was. Did I mention the quilts? A glass cabinet full of handmade quilts. A quilt wall hanging caught my eye and I knew the minute she showed me I was going home with it. The guests all felt at ease and it seemed like home. The view is breath taking but I may be prejudice since my family is from Nova Scotia originally (nope it is breathtaking!). I feel like we made a friend who we will visit again. Thanks Momma Louise for making our time special. Bonnie and Dave Hart

We booked for 5 nights and even though the place was full; we were made to feel at home with Lousie. She was like a one person ambassador for both the area and some of the history.
Room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Free WiFi was provided on request.
Good central location for exploring the acadian coast from Yarmouth to Annapolis Royal.

Can't complain about the service at this place. The proprietor will leave you feeling right at home. This area is the most charming and friendly of any in Nova Scotia or any where else for that matter.

You can email Louise the owner to find out, which I am sure they are. I can not give you the link on this tripadvisor answer link, not allowed. Have a great trip to Nova Scotia.
