We stayed here for a wedding and I must say that the staff were fantastic. There was a bit of a walk from the carpark to the hotel. Reception area is pretty small. We stayed in one of the rooms in the older part of...More
We attended recently for a wedding and the attention to detail on ground floor was really good. Car parks were well stewarded on arrival and assistance offered as required, check-in was smooth and we were walked to our room despite the volume of people arriving,...More
Stayed here on a Thursday on a special deal with dinner in mid-Feb and was very surprised at how busy it was. We came in the side door to a reception area that was a little cramped but once you get beyond that sanctum, the...More
We took my 95 year old aunt for a special lunch treat and it was so disappointing! She ordered the 'roast of the day'-Beef and was unable to eat it too chewy! My brother had the same and he agreed with her but as he...More
Special deal for one night stay in this magnificent place. The setting and grounds are stunning on the lake side. The castle itself is atmospheric and food coupled along with friendly staff made it a very special stay. We woke up to a snow covered...More

The Wi-Fi when we stayed was not good to non-existent in our guest room. As mentioned in my review, we were in the converted stables and the walls were very thick stone, as they are throughout the castle. I didn't look for evidence of it, but even with a transmitter in the hallway outside the room, I think the signal would be weak inside the rooms. The signal in the common areas (Great Hall, bar, restaurant, hallways) was just fine for our needs such as checking email.
