We have just returned from a week’s stay at this hotel, The staff went above and beyond and treated us like royalty from the moment we arrived to when we left. We opted for the B&B option but having eaten in the restaurant for the first few nights we only ate out twice, the hotel’s food was excellent and couldn’t be beaten. The walk into the town centre was fine for us but slightly further than we thought. My only concern was the lack of storage space particularly in the bathroom, there was nowhere to put toiletries whilst in the shower and I found the sink being in the main living area difficult. All in all this was one of the most comfortable hotels we have stayed in and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it.

We arrived late in the evening and were warmly welcomed by the staff. Next morning we had a lovely breakfast again all the staff were so friendly. Good selection of things for breakfast as well as the cook making omelettes, eggs and pancakes to order. Worried about the sun beds as there didn’t seem enough but there was always spare and no need to rush down and save them. Also very comfortable. Bar staff were brilliant and looked after us. Lunch snacks were typical but all you need in the day. Walked into town for evening meals so I cant comment on the evennng meals but the selection looked good. The apartments are small but we spend so little time in it. It was cleaned daily. The walk into town is a bit shabby but you cant blame the hotel for that!

From reviews of the older layout before it’s re development I was hoping for a change. Nice but basic modern rooms.. no shower head in the bathroom so you have to hold the shower up yourself. Minus a few exceptions of staff the majority were far from welcoming. 2 cases where staff come in are room! One being 9.15 at night to drop a letter! And one to get a pair of scales out of our room as we had too but walked in unannounced and couldn’t communicate English with us so just came in to rummage through our wardrobes! Later to accuse us of breaking the scales (if they weren’t broken, why was there 2 scales in there originally) advertised as a new hotel opening but from what I can see it’s just been refurbished. Wouldn’t be coming back and I’d recommend the Michelangelo down the road. Great stay

My partner and I (in our 20's) stayed here for 10 days at the beginning of October. The two guys running it were friendly enough. The apartment was plenty big enough for the two of us, with a comfortable bed and plenty of storage. The bathroom was a little dated but functional, although the door required slamming to fully close it. The rooms were cleaned and tidied every day which was great. The pool area was okay, but the sunbeds are ancient and in need of replacing. We visited Kos Town with the aim of spending a lot of time out and about, so we never actually had a drink or food at the pool bar. Cooking facilities in the room weren't suitable for a fully-self catered apartment, but okay for breakfast and lunch. It was nice to be a little bit out of the town centre, and it was very quiet here at night, but be prepared for a 15 minute walk to the beachfront. Overall, pretty average but you get what you pay for.

We have just returned from these apartments, Thompsons suggested, they were reasonably clean and very basic, 2 young men running the place were always grumpy, not willing to help out with any problems and just playing om their mobiles, food was always cold and very basic, we were greeted more by the various feral cats! Shame as in quite nice area near town and beach but could do so much better with friendlier staff. Only have WiFi near the pool, never anyone sat round the pool or bar area though.

The Diamond Apartments can be found down a pot-holed road about fifteen minutes from the centre of Kos town. As you stroll along, you can admire the litter and discarded rubbish that is strewn liberally around in the fields and by the edge of the pitted tarmac. The place has that air of having seen much better times. The room we had boasted chipped and scuffed tiles in the bathroom, a shower curtain that didn't reach the base of the shower, a fridge that didn't work properly, and which had no retaining bars on the door, so that bottles and cartons couldn't be stored (ice melted in the ice-box compartment), a woefully inadequate set of utensils for any self-catering, a few plates, two mugs and a cup without a saucer. We used that for the olives. The free-standing dressing mirror is just about to lose a leg, and the extra settee-bed in the living room was tired and worn. The dressing table stool was parting company with itself. The bed was comfortable, and the linen on it spotless and fresh - but the towels (changed almost daily) were all torn. Had I offered anything like that to a visitor to my own home, they would have thought that I was offering an insult. The control for the air conditioning never turned up. The pool furniture is (mostly) stained and rather grubby. If all this seems very harsh, I have taken several pictures, which will be sent to the CEO of Tui, the travel company, requiring an explanation for this down-market "resort". Actually, it is very much a last resort. The cleaning staff were all polite and friendly, which is more than can be said for one of the front of house lads, whose blunt rudeness makes Basil Fawlty look positively joyful. Luckily, we were able to get out every day, and to enjoy ourselves.....please do NOT book any trips or excursion through your travel representative, you will find them in the town, and everything will be half or at worst two thirds of the price. Make absolutely certain that your chosen restaurant accepts card payments if that is your preferred choice - some refuse to do so. As for the Diamond Apartments, they are so ordinary and shabby that it would make a glass eye weep. Once, probably something rather special....but not today.

Worst place we have stayed at for a long time. Thomson(TUI) booked us in there saying food was available (it is if you like snack food which is not very good). The apartment was very basic, the bathroom was minuscule with the toilet on an angle to accommodate the minute shower which you could just about get in. We had hot water twice in our weeks stay. We were advised town was quite near for restaurants etc but this was not true especially as we advised Thomsons of my wife’s walking difficulties. All in all would not recommend the hotel OR Thomsons.

Terrible apartments, good luck trying to self cater here as no one appears to comprehend what is required to self cater!!! No cooking utensils, one pot and a frying pan... On a more serious note...No battery in smoke alarm, no fire evacuation details in room...no problem you might think, but on second floor you would like to feel safe? Cleaners weren't great, but in fairness they did come in every day and they always greeted you with a smile - they were the only compliment I can give to this complex. George and Dennis did not give a damn about holidaymakers and spent more time on their phones, did not make you welcome and made no effort to make you want to stay there. Pool area was a joke, sun beds were falling apart and the cushions filthy and ripped...pay no attention to brochure pictures as this must have been taken years ago. Thomson cannot have checked the accommodation prior to putting it in their books or on their site, if they did, then they have knowingly mis-sold this quiet family run complex, as this at best is a 2 star basic resort. Please note that neighbouring complex (Lanaka) Is cheaper on drinks and food, is also cleaner with more comfortable pool furniture. If you do book here and have a late flight BOOK a late room before you go out, as asking whilst you are out there will result in them telling you it is 40€ which is nearly £30 more expensive than booking before you leave! Kos Town is fantastic and we will be back, though not here at the. Diamond Apartments .

Having travelled to many Greek Islands over many years we are familiar with how things can be and are certainly not fussy travellers. Our room was basic which was no problem and what we expected but we also had a bathroom window that was impossible to shut and a bathroom door which was about an inch bigger all round than the door frame so was also impossible to shut. The towel rail was also broken. The kitchen had the usual odd assortment of mugs and glasses which was fine for me and my wife but if you were a family looking to self cater and prepare a bit of food then the portable rusty old 2 ring electric hob would certainly have proved challenging. The was an awful mouldy damp smell in the cupboard under the sink where the pot and pan were stored which we obviously avoided. Drawer space for clothing was very limited and the wardrobe contained 3 hangers for 2 of us for an 11 night stay, on asking for more the young guy at the bar said i could have some more tomorrow but not today so maybe they needed someone to checkout before I could be re-supplied? The air-con was very good. The 2 young guys running the place really shouldn't be in this business, i don't think i ever saw them smile or try to show an interest in their customers and it is no surprise that the bar never had anyone drinking in it when we went out in the evening or when we returned later. The pool area could be lovely but is looking tired with tatty/broken sunbeds and dirty torn mattresses on them. The location is ideal, close enough to the town and port but far enough away to be out of the way during the day. The grounds are lovely and this place could be so much better than it actually is which is a shame.

If you are looking for a peaceful break away, don't stay here The rooms were standard Greek accommodation and the shower a little dated, but that was ok. We go to Greece a lot and are used to this. Rooms kept clean and tidy, not much in the way of cooking facilities, but then again who wants to cook when on holiday. 20 min walk from the main streets and Kos harbour. So if you are looking to enjoy time around the pool during the day, to rest and catch some sun,try to get a bed right up the back. This is because you will not be able to hear yourself think if you are close the the bar..... As from 11am on the dot the music gets turned right up... I love music, but not the same songs on repeat for 10days 3 times a day..... Putting your own music on doesn't help as you have to have this so loud, it blows your eardrums.... One other thing the holiday details don't advise you of is the room safe is in the bar area, not something that we are keen on as you have people looking at you to see what's going in and out. All in all a good place to stay if your not a pool person
