Thin walls you can hear the neighbors (as if they are in your room). Mattress of bed dirty with just a thin sheet around. No free wifi noticeable in my room. The bathroom is very small with mold stains on the ceiling and in the corners of the shower. No soap available. Refrigerator is in the bedroom and makes a huge amount of noise. Beds are worn out. as a blanket you get the same thin sheet that is around your mattress. Very lot of mosquitoes around the hotel But not a single fly window . At the "restaurant" of the hotel we ordered a coffee and waited 40 minutes for it. what is positive is the location of the hotel +- 5 minutes from the center by scooter and the man at the reception was very friendly. What can I say I, I knew it was low cost but I have been much better located for less money. (I can't manage to post more pictures)

We stayed in an apartment for 5 days during August 2018. The negative reviews all seem to be from before 2016. The location is around 1.5-2 km outside Kos. You will need a bike, scooter of car to go to Kos town. Apartment is very basic. 2 Beds (Hard) AC seem to be new and cost euro 5 per day (when using put on automatic and 24-25 C) Shower is also basic but working. There is a small kitchen with 2 electric plates to cook. Small refrigerator, that generates some extra heat in the room. Room / Sheets / Towels are cleaned every 2 days. Room itself is clean. Outside there is a small pool. You can order breakfast an dinner from the Kitchen. We only had breakfast which was good. Staff is very friendly. Wifi is available in the pool area of if your apartment is close to this. Like most places in Kos internet is slow but good enough for basic things like email whatsapp etc. When looking at the price in Aug we payed 47 euro per night + 5 euro for AC this was the best deal we could find in Kos for August. I have given a very good but realistic it's between average and very good. The price is very good, apartment itself being basic would be average. The friendly staff made me give very good. If you are looking for a quite place, not to remote, basic and low price this would be a great place to stay. We rented a car so basically only used the apartment to sleep en spent 2 times 2 hours at the pool. The low price and money we saved compared to other locations we used to rent a car and enjoy food in some of the good taverna's kos has to offer and drive to Tigaki Beach and other locations.

The hotel is, as mentioned in a previous review, rather far away from the Kos town, and walking in the summer heat is not a very good idea. However, the hotel can arrange bicycles, motorbikes and cars for rent. I went by bike to the town, it was about 15 min. pleasant drive via country road. Taxi costs 8€. And yes, the hotel is at the countryside: there are several farms with their cows and chickens on the fields, which is rather charming. The plus side of the location is peace and quiteness, but the downside is that there aren't any nice tavernas near the hotel, so often it's easier to have dinner at the hotel instead of going to Kos town. The hotel food is good though, and the owner lady happily modifies the menu according to customer's wishes, for instance due to allergies. They serve food all day. The service is all and all very good and attentative. There are supermarkets quite near though, and even a really well equipped gym for 3€/ day (Planet Gym) is located on the country road on the way to Kos town, about 7 minutes by bike. The nearest beach by Costa Angela hotel is about 5 minutes drive by bike. They can arrange organized tours, so you don' t have to go all the way to town if interested bying tours. I went to Zia sunset trip for 10€, was very nice. This is a very quiet beach though, and more lively beaches are located at the Lambi area, about 25 min. by bike. There my favorite was Artemis Beach, where you can lay on a nice soft bed and order food&drinks while listening to music. They also have a very good wifi, and the beach is nice not too low, water slightly cooler than at Costa Angela, it's for adults not a kiddy beach. The Black Diamond hotel's pool area is very nice too, clean fresh water, palm trees, some music but it's not too loud, and they play modern greek music more often than pop hits, which was much appreciated. The rooms are very basic, and as a female solo traveller I missed TV and a hairdryer, though in the end of the day the lack of these was really a minor thing. Air condition is only in bigger two room apartments, and personally I prefer air con instead of open windows with the mosquitos... The rooms are also rather outdated and the kitchen in 2 room apartments is rather gloomy, and the kitchen is not the most practical, but it's possible to cook simple meals & breakfasts and enjoy them on the balcony/ terrace. Rooms are kept very clean, and they change nice fresh towels every other day. But they don't provide toilet paper when you run out of it, so be prepared to buy your on, as well hand wash etc. Wifi works only around the pool area, but it's free, and I found it rather pleasant sipping orange juice while listening relaxing music and checking my e-mails, facebook etc. All and all this is a very nice low cost hotel, would consider returning if going again to Kos.

Soula, the manager's name is the heart and soul of this block of apartments. Everything you can request, Soula is the solution. 24/7 in your disposal. The property is recommended for relaxing vacations in a peaceful surrounding, a beautiful garden, with a pool, lazy music, home made food, cleanliness, just the necessary equipment without needless luxury. A place to have unforgettable vacations just 5 min by car from the city center of Kos. Value for money!!!

Nice hotel, nice staff but far away from everywhere. If you wanna go to the beach, you have to walk 20 - 30 minutes. When you wanna go to the downtown you have to take bus (public transport here is very chaotic) or have to walk for approximately 50 minutes. Best solution is to rent a motorbike, then it's OK :-) Anyway, place is nice, but you don't have to go outside, because it is really in the middle of nowhere. Swimming pool is nice too, food is good. Attention: the have realy a lot of mosquitos!!! :-(((

The hotel is a low cost which you should be ready for. The rooms are very clean, so are the towels and sheets (changed every second day). You don't find many things in the drawers in the kitchenette, just two pots, glasses and cuttlery. Some rooms have been recently equipled with AC (6 € / day). The pool is very clean and feels new. The staff is friendly and helpful (as long as they understand you :-)). On the other hand, the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, it's 10 min walk to a bus station to the centre (2 € / person), walking is not a good idea. It's 30 mins to the beach on a road with no shadows to hide from the sunlight. The city centre is 45 mins. As for food, you can get breakfast, lunch or dinner in the hotel restaurant, which is quite good and tasty. You can even buy bottled beer, drinks and other things you'd get in a minimarket. If you rent a bike or a moto scooter in the city, like we did, you'll find the hotel quite cozy and comfy. If you decide to walk, you'll soon move somewhere closer to the centre. And get some mosquito repellent like Raid or Bengal before you arrive here, otherwise you won't get much sleep.

The hotel, is in the middle of nowhere, between Kos town and Tigaki (best place on this island). If the taxi driver does not know where it is, tell them Oasis - it used to be the same, not it's divided in two: Black Diamond and Oasis. We loved the pool and the staff - the lady in charge is always around when you need her. Also, we used the company that advertised scooters by the reception, Tigaki Moto: we highly recommend them for good prices and motors. What we did not like: the old furniture and bathroom would need refurbishment; the fact that it is very noisy and you can always hear the other guests, not heaving insect nets at the windows proved to be difficult, as there are very many mosquitoes on the island. Also, the rooms are very humid and there is no a/c. Because there was no a/c we used to sleep with the window and back door opened. The hotel is close to a farm, so you can hear the rooster at 3 and 6 am, the donkey whenever or strongly smell the chicken when the wind would blow from that direction. We appreciated the fact that they cleaned the rooms every two days and changed sheets and towels (as well old and a little torn, but clean) All in all, we would not go back and would advise to only go if it's very cheap (less that 25 euro/night) or you can't go anywhere else.
