It was OK. The location suited us for our itinerary. The beds were comfortable and the room warm. The rooms to the rear had a nice sea view. The building is a little tired and although there is a communal kitchen area no breakfast is available. If on a tight budget it is OK

I stayed mostly in hotels during my week long trip in Iceland, my stay at this hostel was a highlight. The staff was kind, common area spacious, bathrooms private, and the view spectacular. I couldn't ask for more.

Nice place for the most part, comfy beds - small room - nice bright clean kitchen. Good Views of water and mountains. Price was below most hotels around the area. There is a great restaurant down by the water - 4 blocks away - and the town grocery market is only two or so blocks away.

Wouldn't stay here again. One night was enough. Budget utilitarian guest house in ugly building. No breakfast provided but cooking facilities for the guests. When checking in the lady on the desk said she may or may not see us in the morning as she had trouble getting up!! Felt she was happy enough to take our money though, but...

Two nights here were good if unspectacular. The views of the mountain from the rooms were great, the whole landscape and the wider peninsula is spectacular. We received a great briefing on the area from the lady who runs the place, the kitchen is a nice area for meeting other guests and has all the basics. The rooms are basic...

This is a great guesthouse, the rooms were very big, nice comfortable beds and a great powerful shower. There is also a large fully equipped kitchen that guest have full use of for cooking breakfast/supper etc. Everything was spotlessly clean I would definaley stay here again if we were to return to the area

Clean, cute and good value. Close to gas station and supermarket, yet the town is dark enough for decent aurora viewing. The only thing that bothered me was the shared bathroom downstairs which didn't have any cover of the window. We saw kids looking through the window.

This is an economical place to stay with access to the mountain and good hiking. We found it to be very comfortable. It offers twin beds and shared bathroom. Perfect for myself and niece. There is a little grocery store just down the block where you can pick up a few snacks for later and grab fruit/skyr and coffee for...

Grundarfjordur is a very quiet small town and The Old Post Office expresses the spirit of this region. It offered us a very comfortable room, with huge windows and nice beds. We liked the kitchen on the first floor, with lots of equipments and an extra fridge space where tourists who check-out are invited to leave the food that they...

3 of us stayed here while traveling Iceland. We had a spacious room with a private bath. And a view out the sliding door that made for an awesome sunset (at midnight) and terrific morning coffee! Clean quiet comfortable. Large community kitchen is available too. A great place to rest for the night, or stay a day or two, if...
