Stayed here a couple of nights while birding the Snaefjellsness area. Decent hotel, clean rooms if a bit small, good food. Good basic place to get your head down after a long day which is all one is looking for in a small town like this. Good value.

Grundarfjordur is a tiny little place located on the north of Snaefellsnes and Hotel Framnes is the only hotel in town. We received a friendly welcome when we arrived. Most rooms are located upstairs with no lift, which could be a problem if you have heavy bags. Our room overlooked the sea. It was quite small and a bit dated...

Very pretty hotel, well run. The rooms were full so we were offered a very nice apartment 100 yds away. The meals there are the best in Grundarfjordur !!!! Make sure you check in for Happy Hour @ their cafe which has excellent draught beer !

Only the windows and the cheerful red and blue cladding distinguish Hotel Framnes from the other "crinkly tin sheds" in Grundarfjordur's fishing port. But we found it a comfortable base for 2 nights touring the area. We had a spacious 2nd floor attic room (no lift but with a 4-seater sofa, AND an armchair - a rarity anywhere). The immediate...

We stayed here as part of our journey around Iceland and really enjoyed it. The staff are very kind and welcoming, the rooms and clean and very comfortable (blinds do a good job out blocking out the midnight sun when sleeping), and the food is excellent. We ate in the restaurant the evening, and had the best mussels I've ever...

The Hotel Framnes is basically the only game in town. It is an old hotel with a newer annex down the street. If you have luggage, ask for a lower floor room because dragging suitcases to the third floor and even yourselves can damage backs ,knees and hips as the third floor staircase is very steep, narrow and difficult. The...

this is a very nice and cozy hotel at water`s edge in Grundarfjordur. We stayed here as a couple and felt very welcome. the room was tidy and nice, with a nice view of the ocean on one side, and the mountains on the other! We enjoyed the Hot Tub very much! The Restaurant served very, very good food and...

I stayed as part of a group on a photography tour. We were all put in the annex which is about 50m down the road from the main building. The room was new and comfortable. Personally I would have preferred to have stayed in the main building so you didn't have to put on the waterproofs and down jacket to...

We have just come back from touring Iceland for 9 days, staying in a different hotel every night. We had found the service and standard of each hotel very good so was rather disappointed at what we discovered here, on our 7th hotel of our tour. At check in staff were really pleasant, told us about the facilities and booked...
