Spacious accommodation, Great views, Amazing food and a huge pool! Angelina and Agustín are superb hosts and between them speak Italian, Spanish and English. You can bring the kiddos; you can bring your dogs, and still the quiet of these beautiful place will remain un-scated. Corrado is not just a host; he is like a very laid-back old friend to watch the sunday game with, sipping beer and cracking jokes. If you do need something, though; he will get immediately into action and get things done. If you need to re-charge the batteries immersed in beauty, this is the place. The apartment was roomy and comfy (if one does not mind stairs). The area is quite rich of interesting places to watch. Borgo Tramonte is a little out of "town", just above a cute little forest, and can be reached only through a dirt track that can put your car to a test; but good things do take a little extra effort. We advise you to take half board, so that you will enjoy the great, earthy food, served here for dinner. You would be a fool to miss it. Most likely, we will be back

Borgo Tramonte is a quiet idyllic 'village' over 700m up the Casentino Valley, a few km from Stia, and just a couple of km from the entrance to the Casentino National Park, It is a nice base from which to explore such highlights as La Verna Sanctuary, the Camaldoli Monastery, Poppi Castle, and Arezzo, etc. Life here cannot be more different from the city life we have in Hong Kong. Temperature in the morning and at night goes as low as 13 degrees C, especially after rains, while in May the normal temperature back home is over 30 degrees. Dinner is always an event to look forward to, not because it is a big banquet, but because the seemingly homely meal is cooked in the best Italian family traditions with all local produce from the region. Besides a day tour on E-bike, we took a couple of guided rides on hardtail bikes with young Christian, who was as helpful and friendly as he was familiar with the tracks in the region. With hindsight, with the steep slopes around the agriturismo and the muddy and gravel nature of most of bike tracks in the Forest, perhaps it would have been better if we had only rented E-bikes during our stay. Corrado is a humorous, friendly and generous host, always responsive to our needs and requests, and provided us with many free transfers, sometimes with Manuela driving a second car. Together with Manuela, he has managed the place very well. We know we are the first group of Hong Kong Chinese ever to stay here. Our limited spoken communication (he with broken English, and us with mono-syllabic Italian words, sometimes with the aid of Google Translate on smartphones) only adds to the fun. Our holiday in Borgo Tramonte has given us some surprises, including the fact that it rains more frequently here than in many other places we went to in Italy. But they are mostly nice surprises. Our next visit, whenever it may be, will surely be even better because we would be better prepared.
