We stayed at this guesthouse as part of a walking holiday, and it was really good. The people are very welcoming and gracious, and the food was wonderful. We were there on a half-board basis, so had breakfast and dinner each day. Breakfast is buffet with plenty of good choices. There are the standard breads, meats, cheeses, and cereals, but also something a little different each day. The coffee is plentiful and good. Dinner is 4 courses from a set menu with a few choices of soup and main course available. Everything was very good, including a lovely salad each day. I would come back just for the food. There is a nice terrace out front with wonderful views of the mountains. Our room was simple, but fine. It could probably use a little sprucing up, but did the job. The location of the hotel is right on the main road, which is a positive and negative. It's very close to the bus stop and convenient to the rest of the village, which is great. However there is traffic noise and lights from the cars at night. There isn't a lot of traffic though since this is a rural area. Overall, this is a wonderful place to stay while hiking in the area.

Last week I had the opportunity to have lunch at Gosauerhof. Together with my friends I popped in after a hiking tour around Lake Gosau. The staff was so friendly to accept us as late guests. The Gulasch all of us ordered was wonderful. The salad was fresh. Thus we had an excellent meal in a very hospitable atmosphere. The hotel-restaurant lies just outside Gosau. I remember there was a bus stop next to it. I was fascinated by the huge panorama windows in the restaurant. They open up to a vast meadow in front of the house. From my seat I could enjoy the panorama of awesome Gosaukamm. You cannot see the Dachstein from here, only from Lake Gosau, which is between 5 and 10 minutes away. Because of the most beautiful nature and the friendliness of the staff I have been thinking about spending my next holidays at Gosauerhof.

We stayed in this hotel for two night on a half board basis. It was very hot (over 30C) during our stay. We requested an upgrade to a larger room which was not so exposed to the sun. However, since the rooms do not have airco it still was uncomfortably warm in the room. It was also light in the room very early since the curtains were not lined. We also missed a fridge in the room. There was also quite a bit of noise from passing traffic. On the positive side: the room was very clean and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming. It was very pleasant sitting on the terrace after sunset, taking in the beautiful alpine views.

Stayed for a couple of nights. The sisters who own/run the hotel are very helpful with a fun sense of humour, along with their staff. Good location with a bus stop next to the hotel and pleasant evening walks direct from the hotel. Room was small but clean and comfortable. Bathroom modern. As it was 30*c+ during our stay, air conditioning would have been desirable- too hot for a good nights sleep. Food was ok. Would we stay here again - probably yes.

Stopped here on a lovely Summer's day for a late lunch. It was a welcome stop after the chaos of visiting Hallstatt. Its an unassuming place but we had a truly enjoyable meal. I had fish and my Mum had a great prawn linguine and it was all delicious. We sat on the terrace which has a stupendous view towards the jagged Dachstein mountains. Its adjacent to the road but that didn't both us - we were wowed by the view straight in front of us. Would highly recommend it.
