We spent a week there as a family and we loved it, amazing scenic views of the lake and mountains, great food and room. Highly recommend it to relax. The restaurant is quite convenient and the choice at breakfast time was really good too. Service very good. Very quiet.

The only Gasthaus on the Gosausee, one of Austria’s most magnificent Alpine lakes. It’s basic but its isolation is wonderful - comfortable rooms and a charming dining area. The walks around the lake and, if you have time, beyond up to the Dachstein are one of Austria’s great experiences.

We took the opportunity during the COVID crisis to head to this area knowing there would be few auslanders due to travel restrictions. Friends of our have stayed here before and recommended this place and we weren't disappointed. The setting is spectacular with mountains all around and a beautiful lake in front. Rooms facing the lake are a must. Breakfast is good and the hosts are welcoming. Other meals and/or beverages can be had if wished during the remainder of the day and evening. Rooms are modest, baths are newly renovated.

Can't beat the view! Stunning views from every room. Easy walk around the lake. Wonderful restaurant with amazing food! Several staff members work several different jobs it seems. David was especially helpful to us, arranging a taxi, offering advice on food choices and places to see.

There is no better view on earth than from your private balcony. Rooms are simple, shower was great. My only complaint in no AC. It was super hot, and it was hard to sleep. The manager/owner brought us a fan from his room, which was kind. But they aren’t available to all rooms. Great breakfast.
