Norman Carr Cottage lodge is simply awesome. The atmosphere welcoming, rooms more than comfortable. Only one complaint - I put on pounds with all the delicious food. The daily rate includes three sumptuous meals a day. Fresh fish from the Lake, fruit and veg arrives by bicycle from local small hold farmers. All the staff go out of their way... More

we were welcomed with open arm upon arrival and the cool lush setting was a very welcome sight after a long hot drive from Lilongwe. The staff are amazing and go the extra mile to ensure all homely comforts are available, it really did feel like home away from home, just more beautiful with their long jetty into the lake,... Stayed at Norman Carr after 5 days of traveling through Malawi beforehand. Great place, rooms were really nice and clean. Outdoor showers were a nice touch. The food was very good, don't think I had a single meal that I didn't enjoy. The staff were very friendly, Taffy the owner is always keen and willing to make your stay as... More

Just returned from a 4 night stay at Norman Carr. It was my parents first trip to Malawi and I was looking for something that would suit men who love being out on the water. Norman Carr offer an all inclusive package that suited us perfectly. Two boat trips a day, one in the morning to feed the fish eagles... More

Beautiful rooms, location and superb service. Visited for a night on business but would definitely go back for a relaxing weekend break. The rooms are a very good size, with comfortable beds and great fittings - rooms are fitted with fans inside mosquito netting (no need for AC with stylish swiveling shutters open to the lake shore breeze). As mentioned... More

I will be returning to my isolated pleasure for the fourth time for my 70th birthday. I now have real friends there in Taffy and his local staff. If you are looking for stress free relaxation, good food, easy going activities and friendly staff then this is it. Try it, now, you will not regret it.

We wanted to return to Lake Malawi, where we had been in 2010, and we narrowed it down to this place and one more "upscale" lodge, and we are very glad that we chose Norman Carr. The owner Taffy makes you feel like a long lost family member who has returned for a visit. Service is low-key but impeccable. The... More

My boyfriend and I spent two nights at the Norman Carr cottage- the rooms are very nice, with outdoor showers, very comfortable beds, a lounge area and small kitchen area to make tea and coffee. The sunset cruise and morning snorkelling trips are included in the price, which is a really good added bonus. The food, and eating experience, was... More

Taffy the owner is most accommodating and looks after you during your stay. All meals are included and dining is exquisite. Boat trips skippered by Taffy are included and the facilities are top quality. I cannot wait to return
