This was truly one of the most memorable places I have stayed. The location of mgoza lodge is breathtaking, the lodge is situated right on the lake, each room is spotlessly clean and the grounds of the lodge have incredible views and fit in with...More
Great location, lovely comfy rooms with beautiful decor. More chilled out place than others and the food is delicious (banging coffee!) Staff are super friendly and Alan the owner is nice to chat to and very knowledgable.
This is my favourite place to stay in Cape Maclear, it offers good value A-frames, or very pleasant chalets. The grounds are right on the beach but feel more relaxed than other accommodation. The food is brilliant and reliable - I usually order the Kampango...More
Had a wonderful weekend at Mgoza. We stayed in one of the huts which was basic but clean. The temperature at night was a little warm but managed well with the window and a provided fan. The huts are right on the beach so you...More
This lodge is hard to miss. It has the greenest front lawn on the beach and wonderful hammocks to chill in all day. While not mentioned in the lonely planet, it’s fantastic value for money. The rooms have a gorgeous rustic African feel with views...More

Allt he rooms we saw were double rooms in thatched huts, they put in a camp bed for our friend's little boy. The rooms are basic in style, they are thatched huts rather than rooms in a large buildings. The bed is large and very comfortable, the mosquito nets are in good repair, the shower and the plumbing work fine, power is a bit unreliable (that's malawi, not the lodge) and lighting is very low. Furnishings are basic, there's no mini bar, no safe, no carpets, and shelves rather than wardrobe or chest of drawers. But there was plenty of space in our room, the setting is glorious, we loved it and we'd go again.
