Fab two weeks spent here for my 50th birthday. Location is fab. Staff at reception and bar and restaurant and rooms are just fantastic. They are so friendly and a asset to the hotel. Everything was perfect and the view across the bay absolutely stunning. Ty yellowbird for a fabulous stay
Fabulous little hotel in the bay in st Lawrence gap. Lovely rooms and friendly staff made this a birthday I won’t forget. We had a ground floor room with a lockable patio door which was ideal to getting to the pool and out onto the bay for a bit of snorkelling. Def will be back!
We booked the penthouse, room 401, and were very glad we did. The suite is very spacious with 2 bedrooms, fully stocked full kitchen, living room with couch & 2 chairs plus flatscreen tv. The tile work in the large bathroom is beautiful. There’s a shower & jacuzzi tub as well. The views from the living room, bedroom & the terrace are incredible with spectacular sunsets. The St Lawrence Gap area has many restaurants within walking distance. There is a beautiful bay beach just across the street, unfortunately the hotel does not offer chairs/umbrellas for this beach. There are comfy lounges around the immaculate pool area. Although not enough for the number of guests. (Like 12 chairs-possibly 40 guests.) This isn’t a big issue as there are several beaches nearby, one you can walk to & several more a cab ride away where 2 lounges & umbrella is $15 US. There is a white mini van with a purple stripe that travels back & forth to these beaches for $3.50 US a person one way. Very convenient, however recommend you get regular cab to return late in the day as these cabs are overcrowded and uncomfortable. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Special mention to Monique & Michelle at the front desk. Super sweet ladies!! Housekeeping ladies were very friendly as well. Our suite was spotless, well cared for & tidy every day. Towels replaced as needed. Comfy bed & super clean linens. There is a weekly gratis Rum punch party on Thursday’s both here & at sister hotel down the street, South Gap, which alternates weekly. This is a smaller hotel with just 20 rooms on each of the 4 floors and please note, no elevator, but hotel staff will bring bags up to your room. There is a restaurant onsite, On the Bay, which serves breakfast, lunch & dinner. (Will review separately.) A very beautiful location and highly recommended.…
My wife and I have just spent 18 nights in the most wonderful Yellow Bird Hotel. The hotel is situated at the start of St Lawrence Gap adjacent to Cafe Sol and facing the beach of St Lawrence Bay. The views are stunning and we spotted several turtles and a few manta rays whilst paddling in the shallow water. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean, the room was spacious and as well as a bed, tv and en suite there was also a well equipped kitchen with a stove, microwave, toaster, fridge and utensils. Although we cooked a few meals we also enjoyed meals on offer at the hotels restaurant ‘On The Bay’. The hotel is also surrounded by several good restaurants and bars. The staff and management at Yellow Bird deserve a special mention as they are all so friendly and helpful especially Michelle in reception and Sonia who cleaned our room.…
This a a great little boutique hotel in the heart of St. Lawrence Gap. A short five minute walk takes you to a dozen or more restaurants and bars, but the bar at thr hotel has two happy hours a day, so why would you go anywhere else? Each room has a balcony and terrific view of the little beach front bay the hotel sits on, and the rooms are spacious and nicely appointed with a stocked kitchenette. A grocery store is a 10-15 minute walk away TriMark is the closest, but Massey Stores is just around the corner from TriMark. The staff was excellent and helpful. The bus to Oistons Fish Fry is $3.50 Bajan per person, and the stop is just across the street from the hotel, so we didn't need a taxi to get there. The staff will tell you which bus number to take. A tax ride back to the hotel from Oistons was $15. We will definitely stay here again. The location and amenities were perfect for is. This may not be for you if you're traveling with children or people with mobility issues. There is no elevator, and the hotel is 4 floors. But for a couple, it was perfect. …
Loved this hotel, the rooms and beds are big and comfy. The staff are so helpful and friendly, they booked a hire car for us at a really good price. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all really well priced (compared to other restaurants in the area) and of high quality, plus if you guest's you receive 10% discount on dinner. All rooms look out over the sea, we were in 204 and had a great view.
We loved our stay at yellow bird! It’s a small and friendly hotel with everything you need. The view from the room was amazing. The hotel is kept clean and tidy including the rooms we couldn’t fault it. The lovely friendly receptionists are more than happy to help with any questions you have. They helped us booking taxis a number of times. It’s perfectly placed to explore the area. With decent restaurants surrounding the hotel. The only thing I would say is on certain nights the bar down the road - when they have a live band -can play very loudly. This didn’t really bother us and I didn’t lose any sleep over it but it may bother others. I know the hotel do the best they can to deal with this. We booked this hotel because of the amazing reviews and having stayed there they are all true! I would definitely stay here again.…
I had an awesome time at yellow bird hotel. The view was breathtaking and the hotel facilities were very clean. I loved the area too. I would give 6 stars if I could. All of the reception staff were amazing! But I have to give a special shout out to Monique, she kindly assisted me in booking my excursions, tried to get the best price possible as I was on a budget, and figured out logistics for me. She was more than accommodating and made my stay here feel very personalized and special! Thanks to all the staff at yellow bird! I will be recommending this hotel and if I ever come back to Barbados I will like choose to stay here again :)
The hotel is in a perfect location with the best beaches on the island within walking distance in either direction. Small 22 room hotel, lovely open restaurant facing perfect sunsets ppl line up to take photos of each evening outside the hotel. Staff and Reception were so friendly and helpful. each room has a little kitchenette and Sonia the housekeeper does a fabulous job. Great size room, all rooms have a balcony facing the close up sea views mentioned earlier and couldnt recommend this hotel enough. Pool is on the small side but who cares when the sea is only the other side of the road. We looking forward to coming back for sure
This hotel was part of a BA package hotel deal. We trusted BA and we were not disappointed with the hotel or the location. It was perfect for us as a couple. Well done BA! Michelle in particular and the rest of the staff at the hotel were outstanding. Our room cleaning was outstanding ! Our apartment overlooked the beautiful st Lawrence Bay. In our opinion the best location , whilst being within 5 minutes walk of the best restaurants and the other hotels. Room was very spacious , with air con , fridge , full size cooker etc and a lovely large balcony. Very quiet and whilst their was a lively bar a stones throw away it was not really noisy. Most of the bars are a 5 minute walk away. Nothing was too much trouble for reception and Michelle in particular on reception was so knowledgable and helpful - directed us to all the best events on the island (Pelican craft centre , Independence Day celebrations at the cricket , garrison open day etc) - even got us featured on the front page of the local newspaper. We booked self catering and we ate a few times in our room and the facilities were excellent. There are numerous good restaurants within walking distance and whilst very expensive compared to European equivalent , were very good quality and the locals were very friendly and helpful I would say take the cost of food into consideration when booking Barbados as it’s very expensive - hopefully the Barbados Government will not price this paradise out of the market ! We would certainly stay at the yellow bird again without hesitation. Tip - you can also use the sister hotel pool in the centre of st Lawrence bay.…
