I stayed at South Gap the week of July 16, 2022. Check In was smooth, staff was welcoming and friendly. The restaurant, the pool and location was perfect during my visit. The view from the room (well all the rooms) are outstanding. The hotel is clean. The location of the hotel has alot of night action so it can get noisy but you are on vacation so let nothing bother you. Special shout out to Avery!! He was literally every day and night and did every job. Lol!!! He definitely made a positive lasting impression. And I cannot forget Haneith (spelling) who was always helpful and friendly. Thank you to all the staff (especially the bartenders) for making my stay so memorable. I HIGHLY recommend and would definitely stay here again
What can we say....a truly fabulous, beautiful and vibrant hotel!! :) From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, we were blown away by the hotels facilities. The hotel is beautiful, extremely clean and has everything you could possibly want and need for a relaxing holiday. We would go as far as to say one of the best hotels we have stayed in!! BUT...the true beauty and gem of this hotel are the amazing, friendly and accommodating staff. As a team, each member made our stay extra special by being so personable and friendly. Their aura and energy made us enjoy absolutely every minute of our stay. We would like to say a big shout out to ALL the staff we came in contact with...Cody and Jon at reception, always so keen to help, they gave us some of the best advice and really helped us with making the most out of our holiday...Camisha, Amaul, Nicholas, Terry, Alisha, Stefan and Shaq in the bar/restuarant...they were all fantastic in every way delivering only the highest customer service. They made the atmosphere in the bar happy and vibrant, and the music was always amazing. Roland in security, he was always very helpful and very friendly. The South Gap Hotel - your staff are an asset to you!! We are already planning our trip back to you for ASAP :) Best wishes from Anne and Rosie from Bath, UK.…
We stayed at South Gap hotel for 2 glorious weeks. It was amazing. The room was great, overlooking the gorgeous blue ocean. We were wakened by the waves every morning. The staff were all so friendly and the food was delicious. Can’t wait to visit again.
Bang smack in the middle of the “gap” turn right up the strip and you will meet more of a local vibe. Beach side bars and roadside food and drinks Dover square will show you how the bajan’s party with reggae music / karaoke and plenty of fun. Turn left and take your pick of bars and restaurants, around the bay to the end of the gap - keep left and you come to a fabulous beach called Worthing. The hotel is spotless well equipped and comfortable. Air con is very efficient! Very limited English channels on the cable tv but hey you’re in the Caribbean. We found the staff hit and miss with guest engagement but that didn’t bother us. The bar closes early on an evening and there is zero entertainment. As said previously many times by previous traveler’s, the outdoor deck really needs better utilisation of the space as hardly anyone used the tables /chairs for dining as it’s too hot and flys/birds are a pain. Make this smaller and put more sun loungers/parasol for bathers. We would definitely return don’t worry about the noise it really wasn’t disruptive.…
This hotel is amazing. Amazingly clean, beautiful showers, small stove to cook and a view overlooking the water. Very nice rooms and the air condition works amazingly well. Ceiling fan over the bed and the living room. 2 TV's with lots of channels. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and a small convenience store about 50 yards away. There is a beach you could walk to about 150 yards away with some of the prettiest water. Small 3-4 mile ride to Carlisle Bay, the most beautiful water in Barbados. Can't say enough about this hotel. Great staff too willing to help you out.
We are regular travelers to Barbados, but this was our first time staying at South Gap. We always stay in St Lawrence gap so we know the area well. After reading the reviews, we knew that SG was the place for us, especially as it is in the middle of the nightlife…perfect! The hotel and the staff did not disappoint. Check-in with Haneith was quick and seamless. He even helped us with a short-notice Catamaran trip which was fantastic, from booking to payment and preparing a special sign for us when we went to collect our friend from the airport. Throughout our stay, nothing was too much for Haneith. We spent lots of time chatting to him at reception on our way in or out, but mostly on our way out lol - which is something we became known for :-) Our room was bright and clean on arrival and was cleaned daily with fresh towels provided. The beds are comfortable, there's a full-size fridge freezer, plates, pots, pans, and everything else you need. Our room had a beautiful ocean view and a large balcony. We do have to shout out and thank Lana, Evonne, and the team. Lana looked after us so well and tried in vain to get us to sit down and get some rest :-) Wifi is strong and worked fine in our room and around the hotel which ensured that we were able to keep in touch with loved ones back home. Breakfast was a great start to the day, and the team led by Rose was warm and welcoming each morning. Big shout out to Amaul and Shaq who were always happy to accommodate our requests and cheeky banter. Shaq also makes a mean Pina Colada lol The pool is fantastic, our only gripe is that there needs to be more umbrella’s around the pool and more shady areas for some respite from the amazing sun at times. The hotel location was perfect for us as we spent most of our time out exploring or partying. We would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Barbados and staying in the Gap. We have had snow since returning home and miss our new South Gap Family already. We will be back soon so look out for our reservation!! Claudette & Pamela …
Hotel was nice and clean staff friendly. It’s a shame that there where only 20 sunbeds for a 50+ bedroom hotel. They say they will remove towels after 30 minutes of unoccupied time but they don’t! They can’t do much about the noisey nightlife in the gap but it goes on till 3am. Thankfully we where only there 3 nights.
Excellent location and lovely staff Room was clean and recently refurbished with a wonderful sea view. Both sun rise and sun set visible from the balcony Air conditioning very effective Located on a road with many options to visit bars and restaurants
Excellent hotel. Fantastic sea views from every room. Rooms are kept spotless. Reception and bar staff very pleasant and friendly. Management very kindly left a bottle of wine and balloons in the room for my son’s 21st birthday. Strongest rum punch I’ve ever tasted! The hotel is in the heart of the strip, next to bars and great restaurants. The noise at night in the room, however, was minimal. The hotel doesn’t have direct access to a beach, but both the fantastic Dover and Worthing beaches are an easy 10 minute walk. The pool is great, and has very comfortable loungers. The only downside is the limited number of loungers available which proved an issue when two large groups of “Benidorm Brits” turned up towards the end of our stay, “reserving” every sunbed before 7am each morning before going back to bed! Overall a fantastic stay at a brilliant hotel, in a great location.…
