Well if you have a sense of adventure this is the thing to do. We stayed in a long house, there were 8 of us and we are all normally used to "Hotel rooms" but boy what would we have missed if we had a real room. We had the traditional room with mosquito nets and fan for which we...

The nice but basic accommodation is definitely made up for by the spectacular views surrounding the Sabah Tea Garden. It offers a unique experience in Malaysia and is not to be missed! The food was lovely and there was plenty of it. All the staff were very kind and helpful. We stayed in a cottage overlooking the tea plantation and...

Setting is pretty. Accommodation is basic - clean but could do with new sheets. Food is plentiful and good. Restaurant is a bit tattered but a new one is under construction - will have a gorgeous view. We had 4 older children with us who did batik painting with the resident guide under the multi coloured cultural harmony tree -...

Stayed here overnight in a bungalow which whilst being fairly basic was clean and comfortable and I had one of the best nights sleep during my three week trip. Yes there is no activities as such but just stop and drink in the scenery and wander the dirt paths swarming with birds. Food was good and as we were a...

Good sized cabins containing sitting area and bedroom, small bathroom. Very quiet area a distance from villages. Comfortable overnight stay with a visit to tea plantation which is small. Being on a tour with 30 people it was hard to hear the guide explaining the tea making process but the guide was vwry passionate about the tea plantaion. Good view...

Heard so much about this place. Took a trip there with family and friends. Such a long drive from Kota Kinabalu city. It turned out to be a disappointment. Not as we expected. Did not really see huge tea farm, just average size. The food offered at the restaurant was average, nothing great. In short, we were disappointed.

Sabah Tea Gardens have great accommodation. You can either stay in the chalets or in the traditional longhouse. We stayed in a chalet and it was very clean and well equipped and set in stunning location with beautiful views of the mountains. The tea factory tour was very informative and the factory smelt amazing! You get to see the sorting,...

I stayed here for one night during a trip to the area. I was very surprised when we arrived as I had not expected to have a cottage each. The rooms are spacious with a small living area but you will not spend much time here as the surrounding is beautiful. We managed to arrive in time for sunset over...

We were in Sabah as tourists, and relied heavily on the brochure avalaible at Malaysian Tourism Board. In Ranau, the Sabah Tea Garden was highly recommended. For us, it was worth checking out. Weather - Warmer than Cameron Highlands tea gardens. Facilities - More basic Tea - Great choices - Large portions! Lunch menu - nasi goreng, kuew tiau goreng...

My family of 4 reached this tea garden in the afternoon only to discover that the guided tour to the plantation and factory is only available in the morning. Hence we spent 2 hours visiting the long house and explored the plantation ourselves. The weather is hot even though it was December. The weather is not what we expected from...
