Yes, Sutera is expensive--but in this case, it's worth it. It is by far the nicest accommodation close to the park, and so convenient being inside the park. The rooms are beautiful, with nice views and ample amenities. Breakfast is included, you only have to pay park entry for your first day at the park if you're staying overnight, and...

Good place to stay, you can see the peak of mount kinabalu on a sunny day. Its a priceless view in the morning, majestic! The hotel itself is so pretty! I took the kinabalu lodge and its so nice! Its good for people to enjoy nature with no wifi, buf for me, that is one minute minus point.. hehe

Since it rained when we reach the park, we only managed to snap some photos at the entrance. The cool breeze of the mountain was extremely tremendous. We didn't plan to try out the activities as my son was sleepy.

Lodge 37 is located at ranau in between kinabalu park and ranau hot spring. Theres few trails inside the foot of mt kinabalu itself (dont need any ticket), so if...

Spent two nights in the park. The room had a dining room on the lower level and bedroom on a second level overlooking the the bottom level. Room was very well decorated and comfortable. The restaurant down the hallway was very convenient and reasonably priced. The meals where delicious.

Had booked a single room unit but was upgraded to a large two room chalet with huge lounge plus fireplace. Had a large veranda overlooking the forest and the location was very quiet, great for bird watching and relaxing. Was within easy walking distance of the restaurant, which was very convenient for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was provided at the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The 750 square Kilometers Kinabalu Park was converted into a National Park in 1964 for it's geographical importance and the abundance of flora and fauna. In December 2006, UNESCO awarded Kinabalu Park as Malaysia's first World Heritage Site for its "outstanding universal values" and its role as one of the most important biological sites in the world. Located 1,585 metres above sea level, Kinabalu Park showcases a complete and interesting ecological system unrivalled anywhere else in the world. It also carries lowland, mountain and alpine vegetation that are not seen anywhere else between the Himalayas and the New Guinea. Kinabalu Park also plays host to the annual Mount Kinabalu International Climbathon event, proclaimed as the "World's Toughest Mountain Race" and attracts top mountain racers from around the world. ... more   less
