Our family of five was staying in a cabin near Heliconias Lodge and decided to try their restaurant for dinner one night. It was by far the worst restaurant experience ever for each of us ... and between the five adults we have eaten in restaurants all over the world. We should have left when we were seated at a...

I must say that I have to come back again, since I couldn't see the beauties they got in there. The service was INCREDIBLE, I'm very very thankful with Isaac A. since he coordinate everything eventho' we stayed just 1 night, but the experience was great! It's a natural beauty, and the dog is adooorable. Also the orchids outside the...

The room was clean and basic. The unit we stayed in had enough hot water for about 30-45 seconds and did re-heat quickly, so the camp shower rules applied for our stay. The view from our balcony was stunning. The food in the restaurant was basic local fare; fresh, lightly seasoned and well cooked. This location was great for our...

The drive up to Heliconias Lodge is a steep rough track but it is worth it, as the views over the valley to Lake Nicaragua are great when it is clear. Our cabin was a good size and, while not luxurious, perfectly adequate. The food was fine - not gourmet but filling and good value. The trails close by are...

We did not stay here. But we did enjoy hiking their trail with its suspended bridges. The trail was extremely well maintained. We decided to have dinner in their open air restaurant. The portions were big and it was very tasty. The chicken was so moist and well seasoned. I was very pleasantly surprised.

The main reason for staying here is the wonderful trails with swinging bridges over deep forested canyons. Close encounters with monkeys, toucans, honeycreepers, hawks, owls, etc. are very likely. We had troops of both white-faced monkeys and howler monkeys passing over and under the platform we were on, paying little attention to us. With our excellent guide, Jorge Soto, we...

We just returned from a month in Costa Rica and our 5 day stay here was a highlight. Our primary objective was to see some of the birds found in this habitat and our guide Henry was excellent introducing us to some rare, often heard but seldom seen, finds such as the Tody Motmot. The restaurant on site was great...

We stayed here for two nights on our Costa Rica trip. Our cottage was quite huge and nice with rocking chairs that offered a beautiful view over Northern Costa Rica and Lake Nicaragua. On the downside, the jacuzzi did not work (which we found out when we actually wanted to use it) and the glass doors did not close properly....

We did not actually stay at the Lodge, but visited it on many occasions. We loved the trails and were astonished by the availability of the forest, once we were up the road. The restaurant serves a delicious and very affordable meal and on a good day we could almost see what they were eating in Nicaragua. Thank you to...
