Tenorio Lodge was a pleasant surprise. Lovely bungalows of the most imaginative design, full of light, set in gardens with views of the volcano. The room was gorgeous and comfortable and our favourite of our holiday. Having a jacuzzi was a nice touch particularly after a day's hiking! Breakfast was delicious, if basic, with a lovely bird table to provide...

We were delighted with the beautiful Tenorio Lodge and its lush surroundings. Christine and Frank were lovely hosts and were so kind and generous with their time to show us the flora and fauna indigenous to the area. We were so grateful to have shared in such a special experience.

Our stay at the lodge was just what we needed. A private, modern suite with its own patio and yard, an accommodating staff, and the best breakfasts we had in the country. Everything is freshly made, including fruit marmalades and eggs to order. There are incredible views from the deck of the main lodge, and the wildlife viewing is amazing...

The room view was amazing. Huge floor to ceiling windows. Besides that everything else was kinda lack luster. The dinner at night was nothing to write home about, and the Jacuzzi's were nice but you weren't allowed to have drinks by them. Come on, that's half the point! The bed was very creaky so if you rolled at night you...

Tenorio lodge features beautiful gardens, mountain views (or sometimes clouds) and very large bungalows with high roofs and floor to ceiling windows. Cooled only by natural breezes (and a fan, if necessary) we were comfortable, although the birds, animals and wind were a little noisy at times. The staff was very helpful, the food was tasty, and nearby Tenorio park...

We stayed at the Tenorio Lodge for one night in January - despite the less than perfect weather we really enjoyed our stay! The bungalows were great - loved the huge windows! We enjoyed the dinner and breakfast especially the tamales!! The staff were so friendly and helpful ! Also enjoyed the hot tub - we had it to ourselves!...

Very beautiful bungalow! Only fan, no airco, but not to hot! Refrigerator and coffemaker in the room, very nice! There are 2 Jacuzzi on the terrain of the lodge. The Tenorio NP is not far away and was very beautiful. The color change of the river Celeste is amazing and the waterfall (254 steps down and up again!) also beautiful....

We stayed two nights when visiting Tenorio Volcano national park. There wasn't a single detail we were not fully happy with. The bungalow was incredibly spacious and had great architecture with wood and huge glass walls. The jacuzzis are perfect for relaxing after hikes in the national park. Food was way above our expectations and all staff, especially the French couple running...

We stayed at Hotel Tenorio lodge for two nights in December, and despite awful weather, enjoyed our stay. It wasn't perfect, but had some real plus points: 1. Our bungalow - This was the star of the stay. Fantastic eco-lodge style accommodation. A wooden cabin on stilts (see photos) with a panoramic view out over forest at the back. An...

Recently spent two nights here. Family of four surprised that our bungalow was one bedroom with two large beds, so all four of us (two 20 somethings and parents) got to spend more quality time together than expected, especially also because the wall between the bathroom and bedroom is really a 3/4 wall, so all noises radiate throughout - and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located between the Tenorio and Miravalles volcanoes at an altitude of 1,640 ft, each one of our 12 bungalows has an exceptional view towards the Tenorio volcano. Rooms are spacious, elegant, and perfectly set out for your greatest comfort. Built on our 17 acres property, in the middle of Heliconias gardens, of fruit trees and tropical vegetation surrounding two natural ponds, the Lodge was designed to offer its guests quietness, relaxation, and serenity. In this peaceful environment, along our trails, you will observe hundreds of birds, learn about native trees or take a dip in one of our two red cedar hot tubs. Among the activities we suggest, you should visit the heart of the Tenorio Volcano's National Park, the "Rio Celeste", well known for its astonishing and enchanting turquoise-blue colour. ... more   less
