The site is in need of refurbishment. We had a number of issues with our apartment (all be these were rectified with out delay) but if house cleaning had reported the issues as they are attending the rooms these issued would have been sorted before the rooms were re-let) The rooms a very basic. With stone slab shelving and an open stone slab hanging space with 8 hangers. No mirrors in either of the rooms for the ladies to put on makeup etc. We had a very steep turning set of stairs that may be difficult to negotiate if you have mobility issues or for children running up and down. With 3 uneven stone slabs making up a set of steps up into the apartments, again if you had mobility issues could find difficult and unsafe. The room are fitted with shutters outside but sadly on one of the rooms they where difficult to close. Leaving a very dangerous fall hazard if a child was to stand on the bed as our little one did. Which made me shudder The restraunt was good value for money in the area of the hotel. As there isn't many restaurants in the surrounding area. All the staff I found to be polite and attentive and lovely with children. Around the site there was some wooden steak fencing that I found to be unsafe as they where loose and some had nails protruding through. And children where swinging and climbimg on them, an accident waiting to happen. The site had 4 pools and a water park which kept the children occupied. But again in need of some attention. During our stay there wasn't any evening entertainment in the evening but it was early in the season so that may change. Overall our stay was happy and we enjoyed our stay. Would I return to these apartments I don't think I would.

Hotel is lovely the staff are nice but it’s right out the way of everything so hotel charge over the odds for everything this also includes the only shop nearby your looking at paying 2/3x the amount for everything the cheapest thing on the menu to order is 6€ for a side of fries. We hired a car so went to Lidl and spent quarter of the price Rooms are basic but large and clean Beach is probably one of the worst on the island if you can drive there’s so many other nice beaches we also couldn’t use the one next to the hotel because of jelly fish Waterpark is extra if your not all inclusive it’s tiny so it’s not worth buying for the week a day is plenty Pool areas are lovely thou the lights are hanging off and the beds always have bird Pooh on them ( bird are SO LOUD) it’s lovely but they wake you up every morning Overall the place was ok we never fought for a sunlounger the two restaurants up the road are really good and quite reasonable but unfortunately the location beach and over charging for everything means we wouldnt stay here again

Some good points - lovely location by the beach, friendly staff and our room was basic but reasonable. Menorca is a beautiful island and we enjoyed hiring a car and visiting a few places around the area. The food in the restaurant was ok, although poor labelling and really tricky to know if dishes were vegetarian/ fish / meat etc. Staff were definitely working really hard and doing their best. However several areas of the Carema Gardens complex were a let down and stopped the holiday from being as good as it should have been. 1.There weren't enough sunbeds for the number of guests present - and what were there, were often reserved, meaning it was really tricky to find a sunbed - especially for a family of four. We ended up having to sit on white plastic garden chairs or a towel on the grass near the pool. Really not what you picture when you book. I reported this to the rep but nothing improved. This wouldn't have taken much effort / expense to sort. 2. One of the pool lights kept coming loose and falling onto the floor of the pool with the light still attached - it was frequently then moved onto the poolside by guests, (see photo) but I felt really unhappy about letting the kids swim next to a trailing wet wire and a light sitting on the side of the pool. I reported this several times and although on two occasions someone came to put it back in within a few minutes it was back on the side of the pool. Again should have been sorted quickly and properly. 3. One of the pools (the smaller one) was very cloudy and several times we saw large hairballs floating in the water of both pools - really not appealing for a relaxing swim. 4. Despite Jet2holidays advertising a full programme of entertainment, this was really limited with not much going on at all- the kids were disappointed with the lack of activities on offer. There were a few a few other minor issues but we weren't expecting perfection. Overall we made the best of it and enjoyed our holiday and the island, but seems a shame that some fairly simple issues couldn't be resolved. What is even more annoying is that I have contacted Jet2holidays about these issues and their response has been really poor and quite patronising - I expected a bit better customer service and won't be booking another holiday through them.

Bad points Needs a make over a bit run down the restaurants on site are expensive room was not ready when arrived ecwere in 328 there are only 3 restaurants near by 1 supermarket which is priced quite high every time we went to the pool bar it was full of fly's we needed to hire a car because there was nothing to do in that area there was a small pool which was ok but the gate was open to the public to come in and use the shower what was a security issue said on gate hotel users only but that did not stop them from using it ohh yeah just one more thing there are no PUBS in the area if you want a drink you need to go to the restaurant struggling to get a breakfast in the morning Good points The beach is great and only 50m away and not very deep you can walk out a long way That's about it for good points

Myself husband and 3 boys have just returned from spending a week at this Hotel. We had previously stayed at there other Carema Hotel located in Cala n bosh in June, and we couldn’t fault it, so we thought we would try the Carema Garden village for our August holiday. As soon as I turned up I was disappointed, the rooms looked tired, really basic, and ours has a really funny smell in it, the shower was broken, however someone did come straight away to fix it. I have to say none of the rooms in our apartment looked spotless, the beds were also really uncomfortable, and none of us slept well. One of the main reasons for booking this hotel was access to the splash park and Entertainment which they stated on there website, however we were told you had to pay a daily charge for every individual or buy a 3 day wrist band to enter the splash park, none of this is stated on the website, after buying the bands for a day, and and walking in, it was clearly visible that this wasn’t something you should be paying for, this kind of splash park would be free at most hotels? There just wasn’t enough there for my older 2 who are 10 and 13, the splash park itself needs a good lick of paint and clearly not enough chairs or sun beds as people having to use the floor to sit on, my four year old however did enjoy it. No evening entertainment what so ever, so my boys were glued to there phones, I pads every evening. Food quality was ok, Not loads of choice, very robotic waiter staff, some couldn’t crack a smile, as for hygiene, there was a dead fly in the pasta sauce and the chef just picked it out, rather than take the whole sauce away and dispose of it? Gross!! 2 pools one quiet one and one lively one, getting a drink at the pool bar was a joke, my husband waited 25 minutes to buy 3 fantas, he gave up in the end and walked to the supermarket which is no more that a few mins walk from the hotel, I also gave up with using the pool bar as they didn’t seem to know how to make a cocktail, I bought my own drinks in the end from the supermarket, i was only there a week and didn’t want to waste my time waiting to get a drink. Prior to booking and viewing the hotels pictures, I was pleased to see a swim up bar, however this was unused and closed ? Why I don’t know? the quieter pool was so boring It could of done with a bit of atmosphere, and another bar to lighten the load of the other busy pool bar, This hotel is obviously cutting back big time, I definitely won’t be coming back, waste of money for us, Disappointing Holiday!! Oh and if you want to use the safe in your room there is a daily charge of three euro's?? 🤷‍♀️

The Carema Gardens is quite adequate for a holiday - rooms are reasonable sized and clean with towels changed several times in a week. There are no facilities in this part of the complex - there is a closed bar by the pool. We used the sister hotel which is where breakfast and dinner are taken. As we had a son that needed occupying - unfortunately at 14 he was the oldest 'child' there!! This part of the hotel is VERY crowded and noisy with children running around in the restaurant with supervision. The food is awful - make school dinners look good! Fornells town l by the harbour was fab - it saved the holiday!!

We were booked in at the Carema Garden Village for 10 nights with our 2 teenagers. Having read some of the reviews, I think a clear distinction needs to be made between the Club Resort and the Garden Village - they share facilities but the accommodation seems different. It should also be mentioned that this is a pet friendly hotel so there were plenty of dogs around, albeit on leads. The location is lovely and quiet with 3 nearby restaurants. Fornells is a taxi ride away with many more harbourside eateries. The Carema Garden Village room we were allocated to - 309- was a sweat box. Although the website claims that all rooms have been renovated in the last 5 years, this was not the case in our room, which looked nothing like the rooms pictured on their website or the Jet2 website. We did not know that there was no aircon at all in our apartment. The room was over 2 floors and going upstairs, the heat hit you. The 2nd bedroom was a small single room and may have sufficed for 2 small children, but was not fit for teenagers. A 2nd bed had been squeezed into a space that barely existed. Both bedrooms were sparce - no mirror anywhere but the bathroom, no decor or furniture but beds. Ceiling fans only. We asked the hotel to be moved to a bigger room on day 2, explaining that the 2nd bedroom was not fit for purpose- but they said they were full. We asked Jet2 to move us, but they did nothing. We had no hot water that day and reported it to Reception. Nothing was done so we mentioned it on day 3 - and it was repaired that night. On day 4 we had 4 power cuts - so no ceiling fans working. The site staff were baffled but did keep trying to fix it. In the end, they removed our kettle - and didn't return or replace it. The latch on the entrance to the apt did not close unless locked and the latch on the bathroom door did not lock- not good when you have teenagers! Trying to get ready to go out with one mirror was challenging. We had a balcony but sitting 4 outside together was snug to say the least as you had to negotiate the cleaning materials and washing line. Breakfast was fine - but I didn't expect to see chips at breakfast. Like a works canteen but staff were pleasant and worked hard. Despite many signs, sunloungers were being reserved with towels from 7am. We didn't want loud music and small kids so we stayed by the quieter pool, where no beds were available after about 9am. The pool temperature was nice. Pool towels available for deposit - had to pay to change/ get clean ones. We left on day 4 of our holiday - and would not recommend or return.

Dear customer, Thank you for sharing your opinion with us. We would like to inform you that Carema Garden website advertises to be pet friendly and that the rooms do not have AC but ceiling fan. Indeed we had renvated the rooms in 2017, we are going to double check with the supplier website to make a contrast of the pictures. July and August are high season therefore we are fully booked reason for not being possible to allocate you in another one. We are taking notes of your observatios regarding the mirror for future improvements inside the rooms. It is good to know that our buffet during the breakfast was fine for you and your family, It was a pleasure to have you in our facilities and we would like to welcome you back for the next season. Kind regards

We loved this hotel so much that I’m looking to rebook for next year! The splash pool and main pool is excellent. The staff were nice and friendly! The hotel and surrounding area impeccably clean and the rooms were tidied daily with very friendly cleaners who always had a smile for my 2 children even if my youngest was constantly touching the cleaners trolly trying to help her clean (he is 2 ha ha) Our room was lovely. A slight smell from the bathroom on some occasions but nothing horrific at all Great view of the sea and beach and close to a very well stocked supermarket with everything you need. We shopped there daily and bought food to have lunch and sometimes tea on our room as the balcony and views were beautiful. We stayed in A block which was more or less right at the top so there was always a lovely welcome breeze. The location of the hotel is quiet with a beach on the doorstep. Lots of food places within hotel and 3 lovey restaurants just a 10 min walk away. The harbour is a 10 minute bus ride which costs about €1.60 a person or about a 30 minute walk. This has boat tours, tons of restaurants and little souvenir shops. The only criticism I have is this… when we arrived we had 3 22kg suitcase 2 children (one being 2) a pram and a hand luggage. We arrived at around 1.30 so it was very hot. We checked in and were shown a map of how to get to our apartment. We were directed around past the pool and tennis courts. We were not asked if we wanted any help with our bags. As we set off we reached a huge amount of steps. In total there was 3 flights of stairs so my husband had to go up and down in ridiculous heat. Anyway later that night we realised that if we walked up the road past the supermarket you could access our room with absolutely no steps and just a slope! Why we were not shown this I do not know! This would have meant alot less stress and hard work. So for anyone visiting if you are in any blocks right at the top come out of reception to outside. Turn right and walk up the pavement past the supermarket and keep going till you see a slope on your left hand side. This should have been told to us! Anyway the rest of the holiday was mega and we will return so let’s hope your just as good a second time around. Some tips to try and introduce! As you don’t offer all inclusive please allow bills to the room so you can pay when you check out makes it so much easier and you may find that people spend more money with you that way :-) See you next year

Stayed here in July 2022 firstly something positive the area is amazing the only thing this place has beach and sea lovely along with pool areas and food was good too. So for the negatives Main Pool Bar 1 person serving who was very slow so wait times were ridiculous. Hotel room ground floor Dark, Smelly due to damp issues, vinyl flooring uplifting, floors were filthy and kitchen area when we first entered the property. Reception unhelpful about this everyday given 3 towels instead of 4 that was annoying. Staff do not trust you when it comes to bill paying so you wait long time to have your order taken for drinks in the restaurant and then when drinks arrive you need to pay right there and then not after your meal like any other restaurant. Loved this one bar staff come and take your order for drinks in the bar area outside to save you waiting at the bar and ordering them. When they arrive with drinks they ask you to come to the bar and pay if you dont have cash i asked if i could finish my drink then pay after at the bar and the answer was NO so had to go to the bar and wait 5 or more minutes to pay when you get back to your table the heat has warmed the drink up! The place is so backward its unreal!! Loved Menorca and Fornells but Carema Garden Village never again.

ear customer, Thank you for sharing your opinion with us. We are glad to hear that our location just by the sea was amazing and that you enjoy of the views which are Top 1 along with the pools in our hotel. Regarding the issues you had, July and August are high season, we can confirmed that our staff went above and beyond to deliver a good service to all our customers. To pay the bill at the pool bar has to be at the moment, is not allowed to charge it to the room. We are taking notes of your feedback to improve it in order to deliver a great service on your next visit. We would like to see you again. Kind regards

Stayed as a family of 4 in a 2 bed self catering apartment, the area is fab, 4 pools including splash park which was included in our deal, our apartment faced the middle quieter pool which was our favourite, right at the back we had the really small pool which was nice for peace, splash park was really good fun, lots of lifeguards, we never used the main one with music as wasn’t by our apartment. The area is lovely, steps away from the beach, very well stocked supermarket 5 mins away, and 3 good restaurants at the top of the hill, Isabella is a restaurant to watch the sunset, it’s beautiful, food is quite unique but we enjoyed it. The complex was a good mix, if you want any music by the pool you can have it but can pick a quieter pool if you like I think the most you can go is full board and you could tell all inclusive wasn’t an option as there wasn’t people sitting drinking all day! The rooms, we knew they were basic as we had seen pics/ reviews but all they need is a spruce up, a mirror in the bedroom would help, a coffee table, a few more pictures would make some difference, they just need furnished a bit better, also our fans went off when we turned the light off? Not ideal in 30 degree heat, but that is my only negative, I will recommend and would defo come back, I just also give a mention to the waiter Rapu who is an absolute gem Of a guy, an asset to the complex, he was so friendly and helpful
