We Stopped just overnight. Were made so welcome by the owner who speaks excellent English. Our room was modern with very comfortable bed & excellent shower. The owner showed us an easy way from outside to our room. saving a flight of stairs via reception. We had diner on the terrace outside. The food was wonderful & the service second...

Comfortable quiet well-maintained modern bedroom; generous continental breakfast with homemade preserves. Delicious dinner of fresh ingredients, unusual and subtle combinations of flavours. Well-chosen interesting wines, mostly from 'vignerons independents' including organic wines at moderate prices. A real find for the area - which I know very well.

Our last meal on the way to the airport, having been turned away at two other places - fortunately as it turned out. Well appointed restaurant with considerate service from the owner. An excellent fish chowder, a tender steak and a Dutch apple pie accompanied by a Chateau de Tiregand Pecharmant good enough to order some more when we got...

We spent 2 nights here in a very comfy room. Madam and Monsieur are charming and couldn't make you feel more welcome. The main attraction to us was the restaurant we had 2 meals and both were delicious, beautifully presented and we will definitely come back when we are in this area again.

Passed there on Tripadvisor's tip and really enjoyed lunch: high quality fresh ingredients and dedicated preparation, at a reasonable price. Bonus points for the peaceful, pristine location: a small ancient village at one of the entrances to the Lot valley. In the trip from Bordeaux to Cabrerets, through Belle France's beautiful country road, this Dutch owned restaurant was the high...

A lovely little hotel in a quiet bastide town. A bit south of the tourist-packed area around Sarlat/Gageac, but close enough to drive to their attractions for a day out. Clean, well organized, spacious rooms, free wifi, lovely sitting and pool area, hospitable owners. All of this in a traditional building plus a great restaurant. The food is excellent, and...

Our family has eaten at La Bastide on many occasions and have always enjoyed very good food that is full of flavour and beautifully presented, in immaculate surroundings. The owners are friendly and the waitress who assists them is very pleasant. We think the food is some of the best that we have eaten in France and is excellent value...

Stayed as a couple for 2 nights in August. Commenced with a lovely warm welcome from madame and all the staff. Dinner on first night was superb with attention to every detail. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for our second night which was a tuesday so we will have to return. Tony and Rosemary

We stayed in Villefrench for two weeks and had lunch at Hôtel Restaurant La Bastide on our first day. We were delighted with the welcome, the excellent service in French and English and the food was very high class. Madame was also very helpful in introducing us to a local garage as we had a problem with our hire car!...

Not wowed at all by this place. We arrived as a family and were greeted by a charmless woman who lacked warmth. Her husband/partner was equally cold. Not sure if they really welcomed or tolerated families with very young children for an evening meal - but hey,,parents still want to enjoy god food and educate their kids at the same...
