We had a twin room overlooking the road and the main problem was the drains smelt in the very nice on suite, and there was no air-con. It was rather hot and the sun came in through the windows of this 'small' room. The best thing was the very good breakfast which was not included in the price so we had to pay extra.

I would have chosen 3.5 rather than 4 for the score if it had been possible. The room was good but the overall experience was average. We booked a comfort room with harbour views via hotels.com. The picture showed a lovely decked area with a sofa, armchair and coffee table overlooking the marina. On arrival we were shown to a very small double room with no air conditioning which overlooked the marina/harbour. Confused we complained. Eventually we got the room we had seen and booked online but it was a struggle. They only had one room with this balcony/terrace and yet had used the photograph to advertise the much smaller rooms. When we arrived it was 30 degrees and without the terrace/balcony the rooms in the main hotel were unbearable. There was no air conditioning in any of them and this was not a problem in the large, double aspect balcony room because we could open the windows and allow air to circulate but in the small room we were shown to first this would not have been possible. Once the mix up was over it was possible to appreciate the views (stunning), the location (central), the quality bathroom and the super comfortable super king sized bed. One thing worth noting is that this room faces not only the harbour/marina but is also on a busy and very noisy road. We chose not to eat in the hotel and bought croissants from the little bakery in town and wine from the little Carrefour supermarket. This hotel was well located for exploring, for taking Le Petit Train around the stones at Carnac and visiting Auray and Quiberon. In the town everything is flat so suitable for disabled travellers, there is a produce market twice a week, a little free parking for the hotel and one or 2 small restaurants. This is not a sophisticated place but is quiet and relaxing.

While travelling in Brittany we needed a good little hotel with restaurant attached, preferably overlooking the sea. We found it all in the Ostrea. Room was good, mid priced, and comfortable. The restaurant overlooked the Marina and the sea food we had was well cooked, fresh with good service by the waitresses. Definitely on my travel list

We enjoyed our stay overnight at this hotel. The room was very clean and spacious for 3 people. It was nicely decorated with good views. I agree that the curtains don't block the sun out but that did not bother us. The beds were very comfortable. We would definitely stay there again.

As I am unable to find a review site for the restaurant alone, I will file this here. The location is spectacular, near the marina, and the food LOOKS great; however the attitude of our waiter was 'indifferent' at best' and 'arrogant; at worst. While our ENTIRE party had and actually, in the moment enjoyed completely DIFFERENT meals, we were all VIOLENTLY ill with IDENTICAL symptoms within 6 hours and this was the only source of food and beverage. Medical doctors concluded one thing: we were intentionally poisoned. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST or be prepared to possibly suffer as we did for THREE DAYS.

We enjoyed a stay at Hotel Ostrea for 4 nights in July 2013, with our daughter of 3.5 years. The room was nice, reasonable size and very clean. The beds and pillows were fantastic. The only thing is that you can ear the noise of the cars if you open the windows. Beside, the curtains does not prevent the sun entering into the room. We enjoyed the breakfast with the wonderful view on the see and the boats and nice products. The location is perfect and you can park your car just in front of the hotel, there is always a parking place available.

What is it about French restaurants that makes it so hard for the staff to be welcoming and actually smile. I will never complain about English service again! Surley service, no personal interaction, mediocore food - suitably unmemorable. Needless to say will not be going back.

stayed here on our way to Roscoff, excellent location and views with comfortable rooms do not undestand previous comments about poor food and restaurant, unless they've changed the chef and staff! we had an excellent dinner with adequate service which certainly was not slow
