My husband and I stayed at Hotel The Champs (The Champs) from February 9, 2023, to February 15, 2023. From the moment that we were greeted by Tanika, one of the outstanding team who work at The Champs we were delighted with our experience. Everyone at The Champs from the owners, Lisa and Hans, the manager, Sabrina, the entire staff including Tanika, Tamara, Channel and Josie Ann were friendly, very helpful and made us feel completely welcomed and comfortable. The physical setting of The Champs was perfect for us. It is located on a hill in the Picard section of Portsmouth with a beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea. The rooms were clean, spacious, modern bathroom and comfortable beds. Our room had a private deck overlooking the Caribbean sea. Every morning Lisa greeted all of the guests during breakfast and helped everyone plan their day’s activities. She helped us to plan our exploration of the area, found drivers for us (we were not brave enough to drive in Dominica as the driving is in the style of UK and opposite from driving in the US. Additionally, there are narrow, winding roads and some potholes), and made reservations for us at a fabulous restaurant (Lobster Palace) on Valentine’s day. The drivers she found for us, Marlon and Roy were warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. Alicia arranged for a horseback riding outing for us with Rainforest Riding, which we absolutely loved. We first rode through the forest to the Caribbean sea and then took off the saddles and rode bareback in the water. It was a truly amazing experience and was a highlight of our many wonderful experiences in Dominica. The Hotel Champs restaurant is in an open space overlooking the town below and the Caribbean sea. We loved our stay at The Champs. Lise, the owner, was very helpful and accommodating from the start with our reservation. There are only 7 rooms - every one of them has a wonderful view of Portsmouth and the ocean. We were in one of the newer rooms. It was spacious and well laid out. Breakfast is included and you can choose from different styles of eggs, waffles, pancakes. The breakfasts were so large that we never needed to eat lunch. The hotel also offers dinners, which we really enjoyed. Options included pumpkin soup, pizza, tuna. What puts this hotel over the top are the incredible employees: Sabrina, Tarita, and Tammy. They are all long time employees and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable.

We had a more than wonderful stay at The Champs in Dominica. This is no doubt the best hospitality we could have hoped for. The welcome was very warm. Lize is a great host. She goes for the extra mile, is very helpful and gave us great advice on what we should visit on Dominica. The restaurant is very good (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and the staff was lovely. The facilities are also top notch. The room was very comfortable and they have a wonderful pool. If we ever go back to Dominica we will definitely stay at The Champs again.

Wonderful place overlooking the bay of Portsmouth. Great room with own terass and a pool with refreshing cold water. Restaurant has marvellous curry dishes and a superb breakfast. What else do you want to relax?

Fabulous staff, the ladies were superfriendly and gave great service, always with a smile. Delicious breakfast was made to order and we also had all our dinners at this hotel. Very convinient and the food was fantastic! Great to get filtered water in the room and we could also get exttra water when needed. The sea views were amazing! Pricey for a 3 star hotel but hotel prices were generally high on Dominica.

Very comfortable, spotlessly clean and modern room with seating on verandah with views to the sea. Staff both friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed the pool and the beach just a 15 minute walk. Dining area and bar most pleasant to sit in, enjoyed well cooked food and drinks. Would definitely return.

The Champs is a great hotel or rather B&B in a beautiful location near Portsmouth with an amazing seaview and fabulous sunsets. The owners Lise and Hans and very friendly and happy to help with recommendations and reservations. Breakfast is good but not great - same menu every day, The only negative is that the location in the North is not ideal for visiting the southern part of the island so if you plan to stay for more than an couple of days I would recommend to divide the stay between the Champs and a hotel in the South.

Wonderful. Lise the owner was outstandingly attentive to each of her guests—she made sure everyone had transportation, excursions or food that was just right for them. Amazing view from the restaurant, watching the morning rainbows and evening sunsets.

This place is amazing! The customer service and hospitality is exceptional. They have really good pizza, on a scale from 1-10 I would rate it 10. I highly recommend booking your stay at the champs. I definitely will be booking another stay at hotel the champs, because of the great experience!!
