Detailed Reviews
Hebron is a place that should be seen. It's truly unlike any other place I've ever visited, and when there, stay at the Hostel in Hebron. Ghassan, the owner, is so kind, passionate, caring and funny. He wants the best for his guests - always offering to take us out at night and even took us on a walking tour around the city. There is so much to see and learn here and this city is filled with the friendliest people i have ever met - I am SO glad I came and SO happy I stayed at the Hostel in Hebron.

In the center of Hebron above a busy shopping street you find this nice hostel with a restaurant overviewing the street.

Quite simply put; between Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Ramallah and Hebron, Ghassan's H2 Hostel had the best food I ate in Palestine. The warm, comforting welcome made us feel right at home. Ghassan himself is a kind, intellectual and welcoming man. His mother cooked us an amazing Maqluba. When I go back to Palestine, I will stay in the H2 Hostel for sure.

Nicely located hostel with a friendly staff and all the facilities you need. Ghassan gave us an enlightening tour of the city with personal stories and insights into the complicated situation of Hebron. Would highly recommend!

Hostel in Hebron - also known as H2 Hostel - is perfectly located in Hebron (very close to the old city).
It proposes beds in dorms, which are confortable and very clean, as the rest of the hostel.
More than the equipment, the owner is nice and very helpful if needed (tours, visit, information, transport, history...).
He has created a warmly atmosphere in his hostel which will make you like your stay at Hostel in Hebron for sure.

My experience in this hostel has been excellent.
It is located in the centre of Hebron and is very easy to find it.
It has a lift, it's a very big place, safe, cosy, comfortable, clean and very well equiped.
There are some halls where you can eat, drink tea, somoke and meet a lot of people.
The kitchen has all the facilities, there are also washing machine and even hair dryers.
The toilets are very clean. Actually they're the cleanest toilets we've seen in Palestine, which is very important when you travel.
The beds are very comfortable, with good mattresses and very clean shuts.
The owner is a young man, very friendly and kind.
He's always available and ready to help. He also organises very interesting tours, very different to the other ones, where you can see unusual places and at a very good price.
I definetly recomend this hostel and its activities to anyone that wantd to experience the real Palestine.

Hebron is an interesting city, with Hostel in Hebron being my safe haven of choice. It felt great just chilling out at the hostel after an eventful day. Ghassan made you feel like a friend, like family. I had great times there with Ghassan and the other guests!

Hostel in Hebron is a great place to stay. The rooms and baths are clean, and it is located near the market and the old town. But the best thing is the owner's hospitality. He is Ghassan, a nice boy. We dined with him and with his friends in a very good restaurant. His friends have become our friends. So the day after we visited the old town with the guide of her friend. I recommend this hostel, it is a good experience. I hope to come back. Thanks Ghassan.

The Hostel in Hebron is the brainchild of its owner, Ghassan, who wanted to provide a place for visitors to Palestine to see Hebron and the challenges that its population faces. The accommodation is basic but has all the stuff we needed - bedding, a lockable door (which you would think would be a no brainer but read my review of Nablus Youth Hostel), a fan, bedouin-style living room, cooking facilities, fridge, shower, and access to a washing machine. The wifi is strong. You can smoke in the communal spaces but not in the rooms. Very good value.
The hostel is very well located in the very centre of Hebron, and I can honestly say I have never been so welcomed to a city in my life. People constantly gave us welcome as we walked through the city and wanted to assure us that the city is totally safe for tourists despite what is put about by the Israeli authorities. One woman excitedly came up to us and asked for a selfie with us. I'm unclear on how one should get there - we took taxi tours both in and out - but Ghassan is easily contactable on Facebook and Whatsapp and can no doubt advise.
Ghassan is a very affable host who is very happy to talk to you about his life and life in Hebron and goes the extra mile - we arrived very late and he kindly walked us to a shop and back so we could get supplies. My friends also went out with him in the evening to visit a shisha cafe and had a great time.
Ghassan also offers tours of Hebron that covers the history of the city, goes round the Old City, takes in the checkpoints, the market, the Tomb of the Patriarchs (both sides) and ends with a walk through the Jewish settlements (he can't follow you there but it's perfectly safe for tourists). It is somewhat distressing to see - for everyone. Much of the previously busy shopping areas of Hebron have been shut down to create zones for the settlers, leaving much of the Old City and surrounding streets a ghost town. Which not only sucks for the Palestinians who have lost their livelihoods and their homes, but to be honest, it must also kind of suck to be a Jewish child living in your little empty redoubt surrounded by soldiers and empty streets while life thrives and bustles beyond the walls your parents have erected to keep it out. Ghassan showed us the wire roof that has been set up above what is now the main market as protection from the rocks that the settlers in the settlements in the buildings above throw down at the shoppers below. That is not a precaution, you can visibly see rocks and pieces of masonry caught in the wire. What senseless hatred.
Breakfast is provided on request and is traditional (falafel, hummous, aubergine/eggplant, and pita) and filling. There is a very modern, nice restaurant immediately below the hostel which is affordable and also does shisha. We had a blast and would not hesitate to recommend it for visitors.

We stayed 2 nights at the hostel, it was such a nice visit and I would recommend everyone to go and visit Hebron. The city is full of welcoming people and tragical stories. it's definitely worth a visit and the host, Ghassan, at the hostel is very kind, helpful and friendly. Thank you for the stay :-)
