The Hoodia lodge ticks all the boxes - beautiful location, game, easy access to all the local sights. Small with well spaced out comfortable rooms and bathing facilities, Excellent public areas and first class service and food. Good evening briefings. The dunes are as advertised...More
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, despite the fierce winds which made it sensible to drive rather than walk to the main lodge area on one morning. Room, food, staff were all very good - but the highlight was the day at Sossusvlei where we...More

It depends how long you're going to be at Hoodia for. You don't say how long. If you're only there for 2 nights it's a difficult decision. We didn't do the hot air balloon, but I think it would be amazing being up there. The lodge runs a day excursion with an early start, which is a full day with lunch in the shade. The guides are very good, and you will love that excursion as well. If you've got 3 nights then you can do both excursions. I'm afraid the choice is still yours. Enjoy, whatever you do.

Bradt's guide to Namibia (5th edition 2015), which I highly recommend if you're travelling to Namibia, shows dinner, bed & breakfast rates in high season as N$2,130 single / N$3,330 double. You can contact Thomas at Hoodia via the lodge website to confirm availability and rates. We had a wonderful time when we stayed here last August.
