The NWR owned Dune Lodge is the only lodge within the park. This means you can head off to the dunes well before the park gates open and beat the crowds. We took advantage of the group tour from the Lodge which meant we didn't have to drive the final off-road section which takes you to Big Daddy and Dead...

Eco Lodge. Most beautiful setting in the Sesriem area within the gates of the park, giving you the advantage of reaching the Dunes before sunrise, since the gates won't open till sunrise and from there it's a 45 minute drive. the hotel has no Wifi. Food was good. the outdoor deck for dinner is really great, beautiful sunset spot! The...

This is one of the best NWR lodges. The "houses" on stilts are comfortable and with fantastic views over the desert. Staff is nice, breakfast and dinner good. Best of all is however the location inside the park. It allows you to take off early and return late. By that you can reach the Sossusvlei area before sunrise, climb the...

We loved our rooms and the layout of the Sossus Dune Lodge. Here the system of the carpark away from the chalets and the golfcart service worked very well (we did experience other places that didn't). The staff always noted when we arrived. We loved the possibility of self driving all the way to big daddy before sunrise (only possible...

Rooms are spacious and clean and you have a beautiful view right from your balcony. Dinner was ok, breakfast was really good (they had croissants! yummy!), staff was also nice. What is kind of annoying is that you can't get to the hotel with your own car. You must park some hundred meters away and then take their truck to...

Its inside the park so you can get to the Dunes before the gates open so its the only place to stay if you want to do sunrise at Deadvlei. We were pleasantly surprised about the quality of the rooms and that we even had a fridge in the room. The accommodation had a bedroom area and a bathroom area...

It's funny reading the reviews of this lodge. Clearly, some people appreciate going to an astonishing location and staying in a lovely lodge. Some people are tougher critics. I stayed here 4 days (maybe the only person ever) and I noticed that most people stay one day, as part of a tour where they are constantly on the move. I...

This place is in the Namib-Nakluft NP close to Sossussvlei and being inside the park means that you can get to the dunes before sunrise. Each 'villa' is seperate and access by a walkway. It comprise two circular rooms one for the sleping area and the other a bathroom. There is a safe a deck, plenty of hot water, views...

We stayed here - for two nights - because it is the only accommodation inside the National Park and from which one can take an early morning excursion in time to see the sun rise at Sossusvlei, about an hour's drive away. The sunrise excursion meant a 4 30am start but was a great experience, even though very strong wind...

Great location and looking lodge, but for the cost, no service and food is so so. After getting the keys from the lodge greeter, he starts selling tours and instead of pitching how good the tour and the guides are, he starts putting fear into your head, saying things like, if you drive yourself, you will get stuck in the...
