We arrived at the YHA to be welcomed by Tom and Kara. Check in was easy, we had lots of questions about our walk the following day to Scafell Pike and because of the great advice given we changed our route. We bought a map from reception& Tom helped us plan our route. We were then offered a home cooked...

Handy location in Buttermere. The room was comfortable and basic, as expected for a YHA. Good self-catering kitchen had more than enough facilities and equipment for us to cook our own breakfast, and the living room was very comfortable.

Great location. Staffed front desk with ability to purchase wine and beer at Hostel. Easy walking distance to walking trails and local pubs. I LOVED the breakfast, delicious! Best coffee while in the UK. Fist time staying in Hostel, would do again!

Great facilites. Friendly, knowledgeable and really helpful staff. Basic but clean, excellent value accomodation and meals. Unrivalled location for outdoor activities in the lake district and a gentle 3 minute walk into Buttermere for the two pubs, cafe and bus stop..
