The Buttermere Court Hotel is a family run hotel offering a comfortable and informal base from which to explore The Lake District. Nestled between two lakes, Buttermere and Crummock with views towards Haystacks, Fleetwith Pike and Red Pike are just a short stroll from the hotel. Our rooms offer a cosy and comfortable stay and we serve lunch and evening meals in our bar along side real ales.

Booked online as I’d never been before. On arrival I got parked easily. Held the same spot for the duration of my stay. Super warm welcome at reception. Left the car and hit the hills. Checked in later in the day with the very professional receptionist. No detail was spared and I was made to feel completely welcome as was my dog Wilfred. Room was very clean, modern, cozy. Had something to eat from the lunch and dinner menus. Both trips to the bar were excellent. Great pint and food. Staff excellent. Retired to the comfy bed after a soak in the huge tub. Breakfast the next morning was the full Cumbrian. Omg it was lovely. Great coffee and left on the second days walk stuffed. The waitress for breakfast was amazing. We were given a free pack up for lunch which I thought was a lovely gesture and quality touch. I’m one for attention to detail and the Buttermere Court Hotel definitely have it right. Looking forward to my next stay in this hidden gem of a hotel. Thank you to all the staff for making me and young Wilfred so welcome.

We stayed at Buttermere Court back in November and had a wonder trip with friends. The hotel is located in a dreamy part of the lakes, theres views all around. Staff with super friendly and the rooms were large and comfy. We enjoyed a generous and hearty breakfast before setting out from the hotel to Haystacks. We lucked out with the weather and enjoyed a good hike with stunning views. Back at the hotel we enjoyed dinner in the High Stile Kitchen, the menu was big with something for everyone.

Six of us arrived on 13th December in icy conditions and the staff were quick to bring portable heating to our rooms, which we used for our three day visit, and we had free allocated parking for our two cars. Breakfasts were great, a little too much for some of us, but quality was good, and splendid lunch boxes provided to take on our walks. We certainly picked the best time to go as the scenery was picture perfect. This was my second visit and all of our group enjoyed our stay here.

By a country mile the best service, food, breakfast & welcome in the lake district and we have indulged in some wonderful hospitality on this trip. 360 degree lake views outside and delicious food and beautiful furnishings inside. Drying our clothes. storing our bikes, packing up breakfast early, lending walking poles, helping move our things, calling taxis, this hotel is something special. If you want to feel like a king then book in

It is a nice hotel. There is parking for guests on site. Staff was very cheerful and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The restaurant on site serves great food. Breakfast was delicious with many options. There is a short trail from the hotel to the lake and a waterfall. It was a quiet and tranquil place. We enjoyed our stay. For the price we paid, one of the more expensive ones, there was not a lot of difference from one a little more than half the price. I had expected much more. The room is comfortable but ordinary. In fact the bathroom lacks hooks and surfaces as usual with most hotels. Perhaps it's the location. But the roads leading there were much harder to navigate than say going to Keswick. So although we enjoyed our stay I probably won't return. It would be better to base yourself in Keswick or Windermere where there are more options and more to do. Perhaps someone who just want a tranquil environment might find it wonderful. It is not bad really, just not for me for the price.

Had a fabulous time last weekend and the hotel was the perfect place to stay. The location is stunning, moments from the lake and enough paths and peaks on the doorstep to keep you busy for a good few days. Breakfast is tasty and the food in the pub is great. What makes this a stand out hotel though, are the staff. They are the most friendly and welcoming team, even when we arrived dripping in our wetsuits in reception on Saturday evening after a walk up haystacks and a swim back along Buttermere, we were greeted with a no fuss smile. Thank you so much, you are the key ingredients that make it such a great place to stay.

Stayed at the Buttermere Court Hotel 15 September 2022 having walked from Wasdale. The room was large and spacious and the bed was comfortable, the views from the hotel are stunning. The breakfast was fabulous, loads of it and good quality. What really made the stay was the staff who were great, they were friendly and attentive, and nothing was too much trouble.

Absolutely loved this hotel and would 100% recommend. Staff are amazing and so friendly and helpful! Rooms are cute, I had the most beautiful view. The pub attached to hotel has fantastic food and lunch and dinner both were delicious! You get breakfast included with the food and they also bring a sausage for the dog, buzz approved ✅ I will 1000% go back, nothing to fault. It’s only a short walk to buttermere lake and have some really good walks around it too
