We recently stayed for a couple of nights over New Year and we where extremely happy with the room which was very clean, comfortable and cosy.We took our little dog who was welcome in the bar at breakfast and was also offered sausages which he loved. We had the 7 course meal on New Year’s Eve and the Gin and Whiskey influenced 3course meal on New Year’s Day with wine pairings, both where superb and could not be faulted . The staff cannot do enough for you, overall would definitely recommend, also great walks around the lake and lots more direct from the hotel.

The staff? Can't fault them. The place and rooms? Quaint. But when you can here a couple have sex in one room and another snore in another? We are swingers and pay less for this in clubs. Sorry guys. Not working for us at all. The lakes are there. Any hotel can offer them.

The steak pie - wow, I had the peckish portion, husband had the hungry. I choose correctly. We’ve walked around buttermere many times but never been in The Bridge for food. So glad we did. It has recently been renovated and to a very high standard.

We came back to The Bridge Hotel to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. The hotel had only changed slightly over the 35 years since we'd stayed with friends. The bedroom was very comfortable, particularly the bed. We were slightly surprised that there was no bath or shower gel or shampoo but the hotel didn't disappoint us. Because of Covid we could only eat in the Hotel Restaurant for 2 of the 3 nights we were stayhing because of staff shortages. This wasn't a problem and we enjoyed an evening in the bar area having supper. We had an incredible coincidence whilst staying when seated next to a couple at dinner on our second night - the wife had taught our 5 year old daughter who is now a mother herself at 32!

We stayed here from October 4-7, 2021. Despite the incredible amount of rain (even by Lake District standards) we had a wonderful time and all the staff were welcoming, efficient and helpful. We chose the dinner, B&B option and we even had lunch here as well! This traditional, family-owned, business has what is missing in so many places these days. They have thought of everything for a cosy stay, including a drying room for your wellies and waterproofs. Needless to say, the walks around Buttermere and Crummock Water will delight, whatever the weather.

Room Tip: We were in 21(?). It was comfortable, warm and quiet, but there is no view. All rooms looked good.
