Podere Pecorino is in a wonderfully remote and wooded location several km from Monticiano. The hosts, Manuela and Maurizio spoiled us with superb hospitality (in a non-intrusive way) and our stay was the highlight of our visit to Tuscany (if not all of Italy). We had a superb evening meal and breakfast with produce from the farm and nearby woods. The apartment is upstairs (with self-catering kitchen and dining downstairs) with a comfortable bed, very clean and view over unbroken woodland and garden. Great fireplace and books of local interest. We didn't speak Italian very well but it didn't matter, our hosts were exemplary with their hospitality, and we felt completely at home. We regret not spending longer there, as this would be a great place to stay for a week, exploring the local area. We will definitely return. More
