Very enjoyable stay, loved the upgrade to the suite, the pool, well, everything and more, spoilt rotten for 24 hours, will definitely stay again. Whilst expensive money well spent. The shopping mall was awesome, on par with Dubai

This hotel is no longer but is now fabulous self catering cottages with all mod cons. It works really well for families and the owner is very friendly. We had a big party on the island and friends stayed in this accommodation and we were all really impressed by it. Definitely some of the best the self catering on the... More

We have stayed here on 3 occasions and the initial high standard was maintained on all visits. The food is the equal of any top class restaurant and the service and ambience are excellent. To see many of the same faces each time tells its own story.

26 years ago I was a newly qualified teacher working with a French lady teacher [Dominique] at a school in the Midlands. She wanted to see Scotland. Somehow we found "Willowburn" and I drove up in a battered Mini. The excellent food, the Isle, the friendlinest of all has remained with me all these years. This New Year I spent... More

This wonderful gem of a hotel offers a warm welcome by the owners, Jan and Chris. The setting is tranquil, the surroundings outstandingly beautiful and the high standard of food is a delight to look forward to after a day's outing. Chef Chris uses lots of locally sourced ingredients which adds something special to the culinary delights at dinner. Jan... More

The Willowburn is a relaxed and friendly small hotel with fantastic views of Clachan Sound from most of the bedrooms and from the lounge and dining room. As you eat your tasty Scottish breakfast, you can watch the oyster catchers on the sea shore and dozens of small birds who visit the bird feeders in the tree outside the windows.... More

Stayed at this hotel for my Husbands birthday and can only say that it was like being back at school. There is not an easy going feeling about this place anymore and it seems to be run like Stalag 14. No welcoming smile from the owner, food was certainly not as good as on two previous visits, and we would... More

Although we didn't stay at the Willowburn as residents, we have had dinner there on two separate occassions and both times have been exceptional. The setting is quiet and private, the ingredient's locally sourced and the menu and presentation are beyond improvement. An altogether wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Willowburn Hotel garden reaches down to the peaceful waters of Clachan Sound. We are informal and relaxed and take pride in what we offer - in particular our food, which is imaginative and varied, as is our winelist. There's some wonderful walking in the area, wildlife, wild flowers, gardens, boat trips and places to just sit and ponder. ... more   less
