Stayed here midweek, building looks a bit tired generally, but staff were great and very helpful, food excellent, more than made up for the aesthetics. One warning - tried to book a taxi in the morning, but as I hadnt booked it the previous night, all the local firms were tied up on the school run until after nine. A good stay generally though.
Really good and nice place. A lot of parking places, well-lit parking lot. Kids spaces, cleaned and spacious. Tasty food and lot of choices Restaurant and Staff excellent!! I Recommend! And a lot of my work collegues also!! Thanks!
Myself and the wife stayed for one night (11/11/2022) with bed and breakfast. A very nice and well presented hotel with pleasant and caring staff. The double room that we stayed in was clean with an en-suite shower room, tea and coffee making facilities and tv. The only issue I had was with the shower as I felt a bit cramped (being a little bigger than most!!). The breakfast was cooked to a good standard and the price of alcohol is reasonable and what you would expect. Overall a great place to stay
Staff very efficient and friendly. The room clean and bed very comfortable. Food was really good in the restaurant and was a very good price. It was easy to access from the A1 and just as easy to get back on our way.
Comfortable, clean and warm. Easy to find and a good place to break our journey down the A1. Lovely friendly staff too. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much vegetarian/vegan choice there was on the pub menu for dinner (the mac and cheese was tasty!)
Excellent value for money for hotel stay and food is as you would expect at a Hungry Horse, cheap and cheerful. The staff here are exceptional and Vicky in particular was fantastic. Room was lovely looking forward to coming back.
We were travelling north after having been to France and the hotel provided a convenient break in our journey being just off the A1. The family room we booked was extremely comfortable and the Hungry Horse pub/restaurant incorporated into the property provided value for money food and drink. Breakfast was extensive and particularly good value. Although the pub was busy at the time of our arrival, staff were very efficient at getting us checked in. Whilst our room was spacious and well appointed, access was via a short staircase with no sign of a lift so may prove a problem, though not for ourselves. Not being big meat eaters, the Hungry Horse menu proved a bit limiting but I was advised a new menu was imminent and this might improve choice for vegetarians/vegans.
The staff here are so helpful! Also down to earth but keeping a level of professionalism at the same time. Catered to all needs. 24/7. I’ve never met staff like it. Dinner was great. Breakfast - wasn’t to my liking personally but the hotel was busy enough at breakfast so others clearly enjoyed it. Great atmosphere throughout. And nice sized rooms! Plenty of parking. Thank you Karen, Molly, Katy, Megan, Charlie, Vicky, Nish and Reece for making the teams stay one to remember.
After being woken up by the sound of someone opening my door. I looked towards the door. The peep hole was flashing in light as if someone was stood behind the door then walking off constantly. I opened the door to find nobody there but the floor boards creaking further and further away in the corridor. Horrific experience. A shame as the hotel is actually decent the rooms are nice and the pub is cheap. But that was enough for me. Never again.
Stayed here a few times, really nice clean , value for money hotel. Nice to have a pub here too but my salad came with a long dark hair through it, sent it back then it came with a dark eyelash on side of salad but gave up as I was starving so avoided the side of plate, ate half. Tables dirty , hygiene awful really compared to the hotel , such a shame. Would stay again but might try other local pubs for food.
