Really helpful staff, good shower etc and king sized bed in the hotel, excellent food at low cost in the pub, what's not to like? OK it's not the Ritz, but nor is it priced like the Ritz. Booked there three times now, and would certainly return if we need to be in that part of the country again.

Had a one night stay here recently, on arrival friendly helpful staff, the walk to the room along the corridors gives a clue to the tiredness of the hotel, grubby carpets and doors that have that hand grime on them which I'm sure a good wipe down would sort out, the room itself was ok, we stayed in 19, large...

So stayed at the Darrington on Saturday 27th Feb 2016 for a friends engagement in Pontefract. I wasn't expecting the Ritz for the amount i paid but i was not impressed. 1) Waited around 10 mins for someone to come and check me in where i was asked several times if i had stayed here before. (clearly wasn't listening to...

Stayed at the darrington for 4 nights whilst on business. was given a ground floor room- the corridor smelt of mould as soon as you opened the door and the heat that came with it smacked you in the face. I was given room 6, which overlooked the outside eating area and the back of the restaurant which didn't cause...

In fact, the last time I stayed here was several years ago, and the rooms were tired and smelled of tobacco. The bedrooms now were pleasant - one of the two rooms had a very cold and draughty bathroom, but for what price we paid, we thought it was great value. Very friendly check-in staff, and the pub next door...

6 of us stayed here over night on 5th February 2016, we were going on a ghost hunt at east drive and booked this hotel because it was nearby. Staff were really friendly, rooms were clean, beds were really comfortable. Food was good in restaurant and breakfast next morning was lovely.

Karen, who was on reception when we arrived and then later serving in the restaurant, was a pleasure to deal with - everything with a smile, nothing was too much bother. She was efficient and professional whilst giving a friendly and personal touch and dealt with some room issues and dietary requirements very well - top marks to Karen!. The...

Not been to the Darrington for a meal for a while as last time we weren't very impressed with the food. Food this time was cooked a little better but they got my order wrong and by the time they got it right my hubby had eaten his meal. The decor is sadly getting very old and it is desperately...
