I traveled with a group of 7 adults during our cycling tour from Passau to Vienna. We were able to find the hotel very easily once we had reached the town. For cyclists, there is a room to hang your bicycle. There are a lot of stairs to reach the first floor, don't try to carry your luggage on your... More

We stayed in the Gasthof Sonne whilst cycling down the Danube in May. The staff were very friendly and the room was spacious and comfortable, albeit adorned with some unusual decor including a very grandiose Grecian style mirror. The breakfast was very good. There was also a separate room to store bikes which included tools that guests could use to... More

We are a couple doing the Passau-Wien tour by bike. We were very happy to be able to speak our native Hungarian language with Helga who was extremely kind and helpful anyway. Rooms clean, bathroom brand new-refurbished. Only one comment: breakfast could be better with some vegetables.

We spent the first night of our cycle ride down the Danube from Passau to Vienna here, having covered the 70-odd km from Passau in intermittent drizzle and a headwind. On arrival we pushed our bikes through the front door, past Reception, and into a special bike room where we hung them up: clearly cyclists are welcome! The hotel is... More

We were two couples travelling by bicycle along the Danube. We both had rooms looking over the Danube that were clean and comfortable. The town is not very big but there were restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance. Breakfast was included but a large group arrived for breakfast just before us and pretty much clean out the food... More

Gasthof Sonne is a guesthouse on the Danube with centuries of history. It has about 18 reasonably comfortable, clean, but dated rooms. It is well worth asking for a rear room. We had the window open due to the heat and you get river and traffic noise plus a strong morning light as the window shades don't do much good.... More

Cycling bei dem Donnau with 2 adults and 2 children aged 11 and 13 years old. Nice modern bathroom in an old carefully preserved building. Friendly and helpful staff. Good buffet breakfast. I even left a shirt in the wardrobe which the posted to me in Wien! Right on the bicycle path, easy to find. Kids slept on a comfortable... More

Stayed for one night whilst cycling the Danube Way. Good bike garage. Spacious comfortable room and a nice sun terrace. Only let down by the fact that, as the hotel had no air conditioning and it was 25 degrees outside, I had to have the windows open. Was woke up by the nearby church bells which chime every hour, even... More

We chose the suite which was huge with a huge bathroom incl a bath. The TV was old but we were able to watch the French open tennis which was a plus. You had to go downstairs to get Internet reception. Breakfast was virtually the same as everywhere else in Austria but a lovely bowl of fresh fruit salad and... More
