We absolutely loved this hotel. The rooms are individual and fun while being extremely comfortable with superb bathrooms. Breakfast was delicious and set you up for a day of sight seeing or hiking. The location was good and the private car park a real bonus in a small town that has restricted parking. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in...

This is a romantic location and a romantic hotel. Full of character and interest. The staff do not speak English but that did not seem to be a barrier. The in-house breakfasts were excellent plus the owners run a superb restaurant two minutes walk away where they serve the very best of Spanish food. Alquezar is a lovely old town...

This hotel is well worth staying in during your time in the town; perfectly situated for all the restaurants and bars. The breakfast was well produced and the room was pristine and immaculately decorated. Be prepared that the host's English is not very good and access to an iron would have been useful; I was in town for a wedding....

We were a bit put off by the entrance and reception but had a truly wonderful stay! Private parking. Our room definitely had character and we really enjoyed the jaccusi bath. The breakfast was amazing with freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh croissants, a plate with serrano ham and tomatoes, omelette, fresh fruits and coffee. The hotel restaurant which is just...

We were en route for France and this was an overnight stop. The hotel entrance is ordinary and certainly not exciting but the room was superb. Excellent bed and bathroom. This was supplied with fluffy towels and robes, as well as slippers and plenty of toiletry goodies. The air conditioning was most welcome on a very hot day. The bed...

We spent a few nights here this summer, the room was romantic and charming, with a big comfy four poster bed, great bathroom with jacuzzi bath, and a balcony. Granted, there were a few rather odd decorative touches (statuettes of gorillas, penguins and christmas baubles), but don't let that put you off, as they were just amusing little quirks and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
One finds the HOTEL MARIBEL in Calle Arrabal, next to the beginning of the village of Alquézar’s main street. This is one of the most outstanding and interesting villages in Aragon, both for its architecture and medieval design as well as being situated in the spectacular countryside of the National Park of the Sierra de Guara. Above the village and presiding over it with singular beauty is the collegiate church built in the 16th century, and its castle of Moorish origins (declared to be an historic and artistic monument in 1931 while the centre around it was so declared in 1982).The hotel building integrates with the village and the construction is typical and traditional to the Somontano area. The front of the house has a façade of semi-circular arches which are surrounded by a framework of carefully worked stone characteristic of the area. Its upper floors are made of hand-made bricks and coverings of pigmented plaster carried out by artisans. The building is finished off with arched and rebated sections in the form of suntraps, protected by an overhanging soffit made of good wood-carving pieces. The façade is finished off with forged iron making the whole building singularly attractive. The spaces conceived in the interior of the hotel are situated around the staircase and patio: on the ground floor are the communal areas such as; reception, dining-room, lounge and café, while on the upper floors there are the ample rooms each with its own different atmosphere. The old masonry, the plaster and the selected finishes, the uneven ceilings, the cylindrical beams and the solid parquet flooring in noble woods, give the interior spaces and corners a feeling of charm, inviting one to enjoy it all. Photos of the communal areas are shown in the following section. If you wish to enlarge the photo, just click on it. ... more   less
