Nice hotel with good and convenient location (right opposite bus stop). Good arrangement and nice and cozy room. Staff speak limited English but is helpful to provide guidance. However, hotel is quite commercially oriented as they asked for storage charges for bags after check out even for a few hrs which we found very strange. Onsen was good and they have a small outdoor extension for sulphur spring.

Loved the view around the hotel. The buffets were excellent with a wide variety of foods. Rooms were cozy and clean with all amenities. They even have a plastic bathroom. I would like to stay there again.

Nice, refurbished classic hotel. Efficient, responsive staff. Thermal baths. Outstanding breakfast and dinner buffets. Nice room, but small bathroom. Nice view of Lake Toya. Steps from a full-service 7-11 with ATM.

Convenient bus ride from Sapporo Station. Love being able to open windows at night and not be noisy to let in nice cool fresh air. Public baths are both great, the one upstairs seems newer than the one in lower floor. There is a shampoo bar in addition to the bottles at each shower stall. Breakfast buffet is like Disneyland, tons of options. Three fireworks displays each night (the boats move locations so everyone can enjoy the show). Nice little overnight to explore areas closeby.

The receptionist was courteous and helpful during check in, even when we went 30mins before standard check in time. The room provides tatami beds and a pretty good view of the left side of lake toya. Surprisingly, there was no electric kettle provided but the staff was helpful to provide us hot water flask every time we asked for it. There are 2 public baths provided in the hotel, with specific timing catered for different genders. Both bathhouses are terrific. No hassle during check out. Overall, a pretty nice place to stay in for this price.

Room was rather old and its bathroom had a strong odour of residual smoke despite the room being a non-smoking room. Sofa chairs, towels and bedsheets could be better freshened. Wi-fi access is restricted to hotel’s lobby. An upgrade to the facilities and strengthening the housekeeping efforts would definitely enhance guests’ experience. Otherwise, this property is still pretty decent. It’s location is fantastic - just next to Lake Toya. From the room, you get a wonderful lake view and can enjoy the fireworks performance at night. It’s also within walking distance to Toyako Onsen Bus Terminal. Convenience stores and souvenirs shops were just beside and opposite the property. Some free goodies were distributed in the lobby area. Wide selection for the buffet dinner and breakfast. Property had a fine souvenirs and gifts shop too. Staff encountered were generally detailed, courteous and helpful. Overall, I would consider value delivered and expectations met at this price point.

Old but well maintained traditional Japanese tatami inn where one sleep and eat some on the floor. It has a great view to Lake Toya and is a short walk from the bus station. The hotel offers an excellent buffet dinner and breakfast!

If Vessel Inn Sapporo's breakfast rated 8th in Japan, then this is definitely better. This is bit old hotel with room that needed to be upgraded but the rest is amazing! The lobby is huge n so is the grand onsen. There is even place to play ping pong n games. Amazing view to lake toya. Recommended to go breakfast earlier as it closes at 9am.

I stayed with my family in December 2018. We are given a large room on the 6th floor at the East Wing. I could imagine the hotel was a majestic piece of hospitality when it was first built in early 80's. But now the glory is fading rapidly except the management do something revolutionary. My room is pretty old and tired with wear and tear here and there, most of them clearly visible. The room has a distinct smell of cigarette, and the toilet smell bad The room has a gorgeous view of the lake though. The onsen at the basement of central building is old with mineral stains everywhere. Some parts of the floor are corrosified by the stains. The central and east wings, from my observation, are the older part of the building. The west wing is a totally different world as one visitor conveyed. The onsen on the 8th floor of West Wing is majestic. Very nice dressing room, all lake facing pools, wooden tub. It did not give the eery feeling of the other onsen. I would say it could be one of the nicest onsen I've visited. The dining hall at the West Wing is also great. It is big enough to host 400 diners. The all glass panes offer unobstructed view of the lake and surrounding while enjoying breakfast. Breakfast offers wide variety of japanese and western food. Staff are friendly although there are not many. Tips: if you have your stay here please ask for a room at the west wing, you might have different experience.
